Chapter 10:

Issue #10

Bio-Stream Volume 1

The next morning, police cars were at the docks and a bunch of ambulance trucks was in the area as the police captain pulled up in his car. Captain Dak Hart got out of his vehicle and walked over to one of the officers. “Captain Hart morning sir,” the police officer said as he took a sip of his coffee. “Officer Minato, what the hell happened here?” Captain Hart asked as they both stepped under the yellow police tape. “Well, last night a man with powers attacked a bunch of dockworkers,” Officer Minato said.

Captain Hart nodded. “Did anyone survive?” he asked as Officer Minato motioned for him to follow him over toward the boats where the survivor was sitting shaking in fear still traumatized from the attack last night. Captain Hart went to him and snapped his fingers to get his attention but something was off the man looked pale and drained almost like life was sucked out of him. “What is the name of heaven happened to this man?” he asked looking up. “He kept saying Bloodmaker and blue blood over and over,” Captain Hart raised an eyebrow because that sounded nothing like Bio-Stream so he started to wonder who was Bloodmaker. “So there someone else like Bio-Stream?” he asked himself. Captain Hart stood up and turned to face Officer Minato. “We need to find out about this Bloodmaker,” Captain Hart said as the officer nodded.

Usagi woke up yawning with red dreads in his face. He got out of bed and went to grab a towel and washcloth so he could take a shower and brush his teeth. Sabrina was asleep at her computer downstairs as Micheal was writing on a piece of paper about last night when a mysterious man with blue blood powers similar to Bio-Stream’s, he was thinking about how weird it was that there was another person with that power. Micheal wanted to find out how someone get that kind of power.

In his heart, he knew he was dishonoring the code of the journalist, especially at the meeting when they were all given assigned areas but he didn’t care all he cared about was the safety of his family. Micheal got up and left the house to collect info at the docks as Usagi came downstairs because he was planning to go talk to Anna about what happened the other day. Usagi zipped up his yellow hoodie putting on his purple hat he turned to look at his sister as she was still asleep and he left closing the door behind him. He took off running to Anna’s place. Usagi really want to apologize because he was afraid that he might’ve hurt her feelings by acting so strange. He was really jealous but the odd thing was he was jealous of himself because he isn’t able to tell her that he was Bio-Stream.

Stacy walked into the office seeing Mister Parker struggle to breathe. “OH MY GOD MISTER PARKER!” she screamed running over to him as he struggled to breathe. Mister Parker tried to talk but couldn’t. Stacy dialed 911 for Mister Parker. Soon after that, the ambulance arrived to get Mister Parker and Stacy ran to the elevator so she could get up to Martin’s office. Stacy ran out of the elevator into the hallway into Martin’s office to find out he wasn’t there. She tried to call him.

Martin’s phone started blasting in his ear waking him up in his bed. “AHHHH!” he screamed out loud as he took a deep breath as grabbed his phone seeing it was Stacy calling him. He answered the phone. “Hello, what’s going on Stacy?” Martin asked getting up and holding his phone to his ear as she was crying on phone and she told him what happened he dropped his phone on the bed and everything stood still to him. He ran to get dressed.

Stacy came to pick him up and he ran outside and hopped in the car with her as they headed to the hospital near the office. Martin and Stacy walked into the hospital holding hands as memories came flooding into Martin’s mind about the many ups and downs of him and his father. Martin loved his father even though they had rough patches he just wanted his father to give him more freedom and to trust him more instead of breathing down his throat every day but all that didn’t matter to him he just wanted his father to be okay.

Martin and Stacy entered the room and saw him on a machine. Martin tried to keep his composure as tears flooded his eyes as Stacy hugged him tightly. A doctor with light brown hair and tan skin walked in. “How is he?” Stacy asked for Martin because she could tell he couldn’t speak without crying. The doctor looked at them with a serious look which could mean only 1 thing. “He’s in heart failure,” the doctor said. Martin turned to look at the doctor with tears in his eyes. “Isn’t there a way to save him?” Martin asked. The doctor looked down. “Heart Surgery could be risky for a man his age,” Martin grabbed him. “MARTIN!” Stacy shouted as Martin gritted his teeth. “DO THE SURGERY BECAUSE I’M NOT GONNA WATCH MY FATHER DIED DO YOU HEAR ME!?” Martin shouted as Stacy pulled him back. The doctor looked at them for a moment. “Okay, I’ll do the surgery,” he said.

Usagi continued walking through the city as the news started reporting on what happened last night at the docks. Usagi stopped and turned to look at the tv in the window of the store. The news described the man as a red-skinned man with a white tank top black sweatpants and n shoes or socks on and he had aquamarine-colored hair with red eyes. They also reported that the man was calling himself Bloodmaker they avoided saying where they got the info from to avoid endangering the life of an innocent person. Usagi raised thinking it was odd to hear about another person with much more it was a person with the same powers only his blood was blue. Usagi gritted his teeth because he had to put talking to Anna on the back burner because he needed to investigate this. Usagi adjusted his hat and puts his hood on zipping back up his coat and headed toward the docks.
