Chapter 13:

Bye bye Polanoire

Saga of Saturn: Benevolent Processor

"Is my sister safe?" Saturn inquired with concern etched across her face.

Lumi nodded in approval of her question and immediately sprinted to the broken window. Initially hesitant, Saturn took a deep breath after witnessing Lumi's fearless leap and followed her actions.

The two began their descent at high speed, piercing through layers of thick clouds. Their vision was completely obscured, forcing them to rely on instinct as to when to untransform from their Processor states to avoid drawing unwanted attention. After a short while, Lumi gracefully spun around in the air, facing Saturn directly. With her right hand, she initiated a countdown.

"5, 4, 3, 2, 1," Lumi counted, and at the culmination of the countdown, the two shared a signal fist bump. With a brilliant flash, they became camouflaged amidst the smoke and fire below. Landing in a heap on top of one another, they crashed into a stack of hay, their presence concealed from the world.

Simultaneously, they popped their heads out from the haystack, shaking them from side to side, sending hay flying in all directions, much like dogs shaking off water.

"Satuwn!" came a tearful voice. At this point, it was clear that the only one shedding tears after being separated from her sister was Plutonia.

"Plu-tear-nia, my sister, it's been a very long time," Saturn replied in a playful tone, poking fun at Plutonia's habit.

"Enough of sweet reunions; let's get out of here before that guy gets back up and starts rampaging through the city," Lumi suggested as she crawled out from the haystack and began to drag Plutonia away.

"Hold up, Wumi!" Saturn called out, clumsily rolling out from the haystack and tumbling on the floor for a while before regaining her footing and catching up to the two. They ran through the streets once again, now with slightly calmer flames but a landscape dominated by rubble and destruction. The once bustling streets had transformed into a scene resembling a war zone.

They retraced their steps, navigating through the chaotic and ruined city to find their way back to the 'Jellyfish'. They avoided any paths that might lead them even slightly astray. Now was not the time for exploration.

"I see my ship, y'all!"

"Then let's hurry and get out of this damn place!"

"Aye aye, Wumi!" Saturn joyfully turned her run into a skip as she outpaced both Lumi and Plutonia to reach the ship's ramp. Before they even came close, the ramp began to open on its own, slowly lowering and revealing a figure waiting for their arrival. Saturn slowed down to rejoin the rest, ensuring they remained a group. Her self-made spook sense went off.

As they approached, they could make out the person's silhouette, and to their surprise, it was Lazuli. She waited and waved excitedly.

"Hi, everyone, how was Rudolf?"

"Skaboodle! What are you doing here? Didn't that Angel take you away?"

"Well, funny story," Lazuli began, "one of the Angels responsible for opening portals between dimensions and across universes fell asleep or something. So now we have to use a ship to get back, and I suggested we wait for you guys to go back with you."

"Well, you definitely suggested right, hihi," Saturn replied, giving Lazuli a thumbs up.

Upon their arrival on the ship's bridge, following tradition, everyone on board cheered and celebrated the return of their Processors. With the jubilant atmosphere, Saturn gripped the wooden steering wheel and shouted, "Get ready to sail!"

"Aye aye, Captain S!"

It felt as though everything had returned to normal. The ship's engines roared loudly, and Saturn donned her Captain's hat. She slightly tilted the cap back, then pushed the lever forward, igniting the thrusters. Swiftly, they set out once more, sailing back into the abyss.

She glanced out the window to get one last sight of a city barely anyone’s ever seen and uttered her farewell.

“Bye Bye Polanoire.”
