Chapter 10:

Chapter 10

Saishuu-tekina Mirai

“Well, we made it back!” Yasuho exclaimed, near sprinting off of the bus.

“Jeez, do you ever get tired?” Koji asked, following Yasuho’s pace

“I mean, I do sometimes, but that’s beside the point. Now, we gotta get back to the Adventurer’s Guild!”

“Oh right, you’re a guild girl. Well, guess I gotta come with, eh?”

“You don’t have to, I can go by myself.”

“You were supposed to say ‘Yes of course dear Koji! I would love if you were to accompany me to the guild!’”

“In your dreams, maybe.”

“My dreams have been gettin’ pretty accurate, so maybe I’ll just try and dream harder!”

As Yasuho turned to hit Koji, they heard a booming voice from the lone building in front of them.

“Hello you two! Which one of you is Yasuho?” He said, his voice nearly made them fall to the ground.

“M-me!” Yasuho yelled, fighting the gravity of the booming voice.

As she finally got up, the man was face to face with her, more like face to chest however. Yasuho looked up at the man.

“Hey! How was that mission?” The man asked, the boom in his voice was gone and didn’t make Yasuho feel like she was going to fall.

“How do you know about that?” She replied

“Keice told me, duh!”

Yasuho stared at the man, confused. ‘How does he know Keice? Is he friends with him or no?’

“Calm down miss, I brought him along too!”

As promised, Keice walked around the corner of the building.

“Hey.” He said casually, before the man turned and gave him a glare. “Oh, sorry. Hello Yasuho, how was your mission?”

“It was fine.  Uh, who is this?” Yasuho responded quizzically

“Oh, he’s my friend Kalli.”

“Kalli!?” Koji interrupted, a dumbfounded look in his eyes.

“Hmm, I can’t seem to remember a Kalli in any of the books I read…”

“Oh, that’s simple! I just never took credit for my kills!” Kalli said, a proud look on his face.

“Then who took the credit instead of you?” Yasuho asked

“It was Keice, who else?”

“Yeah, I did.” Keice admitted “He said he didn’t want the fame, so I took credit.”

“Why didn’t you take credit then, Kalli?”

“Because, I didn’t want to be that one hero that was hired for everything, it gets boring fighting such weak monsters.”

“Weak monsters? What sort of monster would you consider weak?”

“You ever heard of the Planet Shaper?”

‘Of course everyone has heard of the Planet Shaper, it was the most well known kill by Keice! Something that had nearly devastated the planet we are on!’ Yasuho wanted to scream before slowly coming to a realization “Oh my god, was that you that killed it?”

Kalli grinned “Yep.”

Keice scratched the back of his neck “Yep, it was him…”

“And that’s considered weak to you?”

“Yep.”

Yasuho simply stared at Kalli, finally coming across her own thought.

‘This man, is the strongest in history.’
