Something is off...

"So in one words, you made a girl fall for you in just one night? Man you are some serious playboy."

"I didn't! I told you! I just saved her from death."

"And rizzed her up in the process..."

"Stop making stuff up."

"Okay okay."

"But you know, a part of myself is still concerned about her."

"Why? You saved her from ending herself, didn't you?"

"What if she decides to jump off today?"

"You are not a therapist, are you?"

"Well no..."

Kanako was talking to his friend, Jin, as they were walking down the hallway during lunch break. Kanako, as always was attracting a lot of attention. He was quite popular.

"Hey Kanako, I heard that the melon breads were added to the cafeteria menu today."

"Really?"

"Yep. Now you don't have to buy melon breads from outside. But you should still hurry. It might get sold out."

As soon as Kanako entered into the cafeteria, he went searching for the melon breads. His eyes gazed at the price. They were awfully cheap. As he reached out his hand to grab one out of the many, his hands touched the hands of another person, with the same intention.

As he looked as to who might it be, he was kind of shocked, and happy to see that it was the same girl that he had saved the other day.

As moment of silence went between them, as if this small information was too much for them to handle. It was as if their surroundings paused for the moment.

"Ehh!?"

"Ehh?!"

They were both equally surprised. Their minds were thinking the same thing,

"Why is he here?"

"Why is she here?"

All the shock was resolved when Kanako took Ayane at the back of the school building to know more. Actually, Ayane was a first year transfer student at the school, which explains why she didn't know about Kanako, even though he was popular.

"So, you are my senior?"

"It seems so."

Things went awkward between them. After all, they both thought they were of the same age when they both met last night. Things went so awkward that it was impossible even for the extroverted and outgoing Kanako to revert back. In the end, they both left without officially ending the conversation.

"Hey Kanako, is that the girl you saved last night?", asked Jin.

"Yep, she is the one."

"Come to think of it, you don't know who she really is, do you?"

"Nope. I don't."

"Ayane Nao. The famous child actress who's popularity died as she grew older. I heard that she is trying to regain her popularity."

"Well, she did say that she is an aspiring actress."

"Upon closer look. She looks super cute, doesn't she?"

"She is an actress after all, she has to look cute."

"I see you are indirectly agreeing."

"Should I not?"

"But I wonder why did she try to end herself?"

"I wonder too."

"Maybe you should look deeper. My instincts are telling me something is not right."

"I guess."
