The one who would expose the darkness

In a somewhat secluded section of town, a woman with bleached blonde hair clad in a hoodie, jeans, and sneakers entered her house. She then went through a secret door and descended to a secret basement. Once she was in, the voice of a young girl spoke through the intercom attached to a steel door.

"What happened on February 29th 2000?" the girl asked.

"Riho Amanuma and Nobuto Shiragiku were murdered by Niles Thorndyke," the woman replied

"What captured the crime?"

"A Canon Powershot A5."

"What time was I born?"

"9:38 A.M. on February 1st, 2004."

The door unlocked and the woman entered to be greeted by her young 3 year old daughter.

"Oka-san!" the girl cried as she leapt into her mother's arms.

"I'm glad to see you too Yuni," the woman smiled as she stroked her daughter's magenta hair.

She then locked the door and got to work on her computer.

"So who'd you bust today?" Yuni asked.

"I managed to catch a disturbing photo while out in the woods. I'm honestly lucky I wasn't spotted," the woman said as an image of Ruchi Ookuma holding a jagged knife with a demented smile on her face appeared on the computer screen.

"Isn't that the one you think murdered her husband?"

"Yes, though she is incredibly dangerous. If I try to expose her, there will be no going back."

"You can do it! You're fearless!"

"I'm not concerned about myself, but you are a different story."

"I've been keeping guard on the basement ever since I could talk though."

"And I'm glad you are smart enough to do that at your age, but as your mother, I still worry about you. I think it might be time to have you move in with your aunt and cousins."

"But I wanna be with YOU Oka-san!" Yuni pouted.

"It's too dangerous, and I don't want you to be forced to spend your life underground because of me. My sister lives in the light and will make sure you can have a nice normal life. Though I'll promise you this. I'll try to visit you at least once a year on your birthday."

"ONCE A YEAR!?"

"I don't want my sister, her family, and especially you to be targeted by Illumous because of me. Though I may not see you everyday, I'll be sure to upload videos online more frequently than I did before."

"Why now?"

"Because now that you're old enough, I feel you're strong enough to live without me with your aunt. I laid low so I could raise you, but now it's time to start bringing down the corrupt again so that the world will be a better place for you to grow up in."

Yuni gazed up at her mother's warm smile and her strong and unwavering eyes.

"You're the coolest mother ever!" Yuni tearfully smiled as she hugged her mother.

"I hope you grow up to be a wonderful woman," the woman smiled.

This would set in motion the comeback of underground journalist, Fuka Kirika aka Fubuki Dakota and her crusade against Illumous and many other corrupt forces around the world.
