Chapter 59:
Spice of Life
As the afternoon arrived, the usual regulars arrived to eat.
"This cake-"
"-Is the best-"
"__."
"KASUMI!"
"-Ever," Kasumi groaned.
This time, Yuni had brought the triplets with her and was dining in.
"I hope your luxury seating room gets fixed," Yuni stated as she began eating her fried chicken.
"We'll have it up and running by the end of the week. Hear the Ginkawas are having a big party with some folks from the Olympic committee," Rika smiled.
"That uber rich family? Come to think of it, the Olympics will be coming up in about a month. Are you gonna be broadcasting footage from the games?"
"On our TVs? You bet. Hmm, maybe we should host some watch parties. Maybe even come up with some limited time promotional material. I could also make some Brazilian dishes," Rika giddily mused.
"Quite the business woman you are," Mochi mused as she arrived with Bianka.
"Hey, I see a-"
"NO!"
"Yes," Bianka sighed as she refrained from attempting to flirt with Yuni.
As the two sat down, an entourage of luxury cars pulled up to the restaurant. The first to exit was a woman that looked like a geisha. She had a mature aura and had a fierce glare and scowl on her powdered face as she clomped towards the restaurant in her red kimono and geta. The second was a middle aged man with a round face, thinning pink hair, and brown eyes in a hakama. He wore brown round rim glasses and had also powered his face. Finally, an old man with grey hair clad in a hakama and another woman with black hair and purple eyes dressed like a geisha exited from the final car. Unlike the first woman. This woman wore a blue kimono and dark purple slip on athletic sneakers. She did however, have her hair tied up and had her face powdered white like the other woman.
"Why the hell are you wearing sneakers!?" the man with grey hair glared.
"Because the geta hurt my feet. You should just shut up and be glad I decided to rizz myself up for something like this," the woman in the blue kimono glared.
A few familiar faces from the remedial course like Kiki, Etsuya, and Kanryusai were also present along with a few others as the group stormed into the restaurant.
Mochi scowled and quickly moved to a more secluded table, much to Bianka's confusion, as the group entered the restaurant. Matcha too decided to bolt for the kitchen as Mimi decided to greet the group.
"Welcome to Ryokoma, I apologize, but our luxury seating area is currently closed for maintenance, we do have other high class seating options for large groups though," Mimi smiled.
"Where the hell are your chefs!? Out in the open NOW! We're here for a followup inspection both on behalf of the Gourmet elite society and the Tabemono alumna's association," the man with grey hair declared.
Mimi nervously ran to the kitchen to tell everyone, as the girls that were currently waiting tables, finished what they were doing before assembling. Once all the staff were assembled, the grey haired man began his drivel.
"Earlier this morning. A prominent member of both organizations we are here on behalf on, reported that she was unable to complete her inspection due to a staff member refusing to even take her order. She returned in tears from how horribly she was treated. Which one of you did it!?" the grey haired man snarled as all the guests currently turned their attention to the spectacle.
"I did sir," Masaru declared.
The man glared and swiftly Smacked Masaru on the side of his head with his cane. Patrons naturally began to protest as the man turned and glared at Rika.
"Did you ruin him?" he snarled as his animosity began to ooze out like crazy.
"No, I fixed him," Rika glared.
The man attempted to beat Rika the same way he beat Masaru, but Rika blocked his strike effortlessly.
"Really shouldn't be swingin that at a cute girl like-GAH!"
Before Rika could react, she suddenly felt a sharp pain in her gut as she crumbled to the ground in pain.
"And that's why I wore sneakers," the woman in the blue kimono glared as she retracted her foot.
"What the hell are you guys doing!?" Yuni angrily yelled as she shot up.
"Hmm? Is THAT fried chicken? In such a supposedly gourmet establishment!? UGH! REVOLTING!" The man with thinning pink hair cringed.
"Yes! And it's delicious!" Yuni glared as she devoured a piece before the group eliciting audible gasps.
"Re- REVOLTING! Throw that rabble out immediately!" Etsuya cringed.
"Don't you DARE insult our customers!" Rika glared as she got up.
"Allow me to continue the conversation," the woman in the red kimono glared as she walked up to Itsuki.
"Hello mother," Itsuki glared.
*Smack*
Itsuki glared as she massaged her cheek that the woman had smacked with her fan.
"That man was right, you are ruined," the woman glared before getting back to the main drivel.
"Since you failed the inspection, you are stripped of all benefits previously given to members of both organizations we represent. This means you are blacklisted not only from receiving funding and ingredients from the gourmet elite society and it's associates, but also Tabemono and it's associates."
"Bullshit! Rebelle was just here to harass us!" Rika glared.
"Rebelle would never. She's an esteemed woman."
"She is not. She wrote a slanderous piece against Rika," Masaru glared as he stood up.
"The truth is not slander. Rebelle is a talented journalist, yet continues to devote herself fully towards cooking."
"You call THIS journalism!? This is nothing but a hit piece!" Yuni fumed as she read the article on her phone.
"And what's it to you, rabble? Shut up while we-"
"A real journalist wouldn't write this crap!"
"Girl, she IS a real journalist. Do not interfere with our business. Shut up and sit back down," the woman glared as she stared down Yuni.
"Fubuki Dakota wouldn't."
Audible gasps of shock erupted from the entire group as well as a few patrons. Kasumi clenched her fist in anger as all eyes focused on her table.
"Damn you. Now I'M going to get hate as well," Kasumi angrily thought.
The woman in the blue kimono then approached Yuni.
"Kabuki Dakota is a conspiracy theorist. Do not idolize her if you wish to be a productive member of society," the woman glared.
"Why did you gasp? Mother's a hardcore fan, yet you still love her," Matcha glared at the man with thinning pink hair.
The man, however, acted as though she didn't exist, and thus he heard nothing.
"I think Fubuki's great. Hope she kicks Ookuma's ass!" Mimi proclaimed.
All the women in the group let out an audible gasp as the men went silent.
"If all you're here to do is gasp and mock at everything we or our patrons say, then leave!" Itsuki glared.
"Well, if someone serious like you is getting all riled up, then I'll stop holdin back. Fuck off you old creeps, you especially you powdered pig," Waki glared at the man with pink hair.
"P- PIG!? Don't insult me because I have a large face!" the man fumed.
"No Waki, pig is too kind a word to describe him. Piece of shit is more appropriate," Mochi glared as she appeared with Bianka.
"MOCHI-CHWAN! I wov you so much!" the pink haired man declared as his whole demeanor changed.
"Disgusting. See, this is how he works. If father acknowledges you, he showers you with unconditional love, but if he is disappointed in you, you don't exist in the world to him," Matcha stated.
"Wow, he really is shit. Though sadly I think Onee-... Rebelle is worse," Zuina stated.
"Shinohime, why are you smirking at me like that?" the woman in the red kimono glared.
"Because I am fascinated. Never have I felt this motivated to prove someone wrong since the day my father declared I'd never impress him with my cooking. Perhaps I cannot become head of the gourmet elite society, but I am certainly eligible to head Tabemono," Benihime smirked.
Once again, audible gasps emerged from the group, however, the cheers from the patrons drowned it out.
"Yeah, show em who's boss!" one shouted.
"The eggs will shine upon you!" another preached.
"Give em hell," Yuni smiled as she smugly sat back down.
"Well you heard em, looks like it's rebels vs Gourmet elites round 2," Rika grinned.
"This time, I'm on the right side," Masaru declared as he stared down the man with grey hair.
The group began to scowl and leave.
"Mochi chwan, Pwease pwease cook again," the man with pink hair pleaded.
"Piss off you piece of shit," Bianka glared.
"GET AWAY FROM MY DAUGHTER YOU FILTHY WHORE!" the man roared as his demeanor once again changed.
"Seems I'll have to disown another child. And this one had prestige and talent. Damn you for seducing him, heathen," the man with grey hair glared at Rika.
Rika however was in a glaring match with the woman in the blue kimono.
"You sound kind of familiar, but I can't quite remember where I heard your voice," Rika glared.
"It sickens me how far you've corrupted Masaru," the woman in the blue kimono glared back.
Suddenly, Himawari, Purin, Yumeko, and Makoto arrived.
"Police, we're here to arrest someone," Himawari glared.
"Shit, was it Rebelle? I doubt Ookuma would leak her setup pic," Rika nervously thought.
