Kaoru's boyfriend

"Hey, Tanaka-san. Can I sit here?," Sakura Katayama asked me, one day when they were attending a joint class with us.

Katayama-san was really tall and wore glasses. She had really long hair too.

"Yeah, sure. Why not?," I said, smiling at her.

So Katayama-san sat on the desk next to mine.

"Yeah, I know," I said to Katayama-san as we conversed.

"Yeah, totally," she said, laughing.

Katayama-san and me had always been on good terms but in the first year of high school, we had talked to each other a lot.

"Yeah, so, umm, I'm gonna say something which you might not like that much. Can I still say it?," she said.

"Yeah, you can," I said.

"It's about Kaoru Jihara," she said.

"Oh, really? Let's hear it then," I said, smiling.

"Does Kaoru have a boyfriend?," she asked.

"No. I would've known if she had one," I said.

"I think she has one. My mom saw her getting flowers from a guy the other day when she was walking home. The guy came on a bike and gave her flowers," she said.

My eyes widened. I didn't actually believe what she said but I didn't know if it was true or not.

"Oh, really?," I said.

She nodded.

"I'll ask her about it then," I said.
