Chapter 360:

Shattering Animals

Museworld

“Dismantle! Dismantle…!” Katie moaned, the devastating fingers dotting her hands whipping around like the loaded guns they were. She forced Frankie up onto the coaster, swinging at her again and again as she backed onto the dangerous terrain, every step a threat of falling.

“S-Stop it! Katie, Stop-“

The assailant let out an animalistic, sobbing cry as she tore off a piece of the track, unraveling the atoms on either end of it. She threw it at Frankie’s head, nearly lodging it in her brain.

“STOP!” She desperately shrieked.

“You’re going to DIE ANYWAY!” Katie growled, backing her defenseless sister up against what had once been the coaster’s starting climb, now fallen on its side as a precarious set of wooden beams to leap across. Her life at stake, Frankie did just that, almost falling into the underbrush of jagged wood below when she toppled her way onto the first platform.

“YOU ACT LIKE IT DOESN’T GET TO YOU. LIKE, LIKE YOU DON’T CARE ABOUT A THING. You were ALWAYS so HIGH ABOVE IT.”

Katie leapt on it right along with her, careful not to fall as her sister jumped ahead. Suddenly she was afraid to die again. She didn’t want to go out before she got to revel in what would be left of her sister when she got done with her.

“T-This isn’t you!” Frankie cried over the wind. “I-I love you, Katie! I love you!”

Katie felt like scalding water had been poured down her throat. She exploded into a frenzy, jumping up and sticking her hands at the air below her.

“DISMANTLE—-!”

Rocketing across the gap, she grabbed Frankie, landing right on top of her on the next sturdy part of track, if any of it could be called “sturdy.” Katie raised a hand to her sobbing, pathetic face. She looked scared.

“P-please- Please!”

Katie seized her right shoulder. The blood squirmed under her forceful touch.

“NO! NO!”

“S-Shut up. SHUT UP!”

Frankie’s screams quickly became breathy, soundless gasps as her vision went blurry and her ears rang in horrified pain. Bone exploded into the air with an added jolt of red, streaking liquid. As Katie stood up, laughing, Frankie examined her handiwork. What was left of her right arm was scattered far across the surrounding area, every bit of flesh divided into pieces.

Frankie got up and ran down the track, biting her tongue and trying to wake up.

Katie just shivered in place.

How could I have done that…?

But it…

It felt…

It made me feel…

…Something.

Anything.

I need… more.

Katie slowly stretched forward, a giggle curling its way out of her lips.

Then a laugh.

Then howling, uproarious laughter.

Frankie looked back in fear.

That’s right, Frankie… get scared. Get scared of that coming end.

I’ll show you what it’s like to be human.
