Apocalipsis

Frankie kept stumbling, every trip a chance of death in and of itself, but it was useless to stop moving as Katie approached dreadfully behind her.

She felt so, so sick- the phantom sensation of her missing arm was little compared to the haunting terror of not only someone trying to kill her, but that person being of her own flesh and blood.

She seemed so sure in her pursuit. She called out from behind her, telling her everything she’d do to her. Is she just trying to convince herself that this was what she wants? Frankie couldn’t earnestly believe that, after the pain this woman had inflicted on her.

But somehow, she still loved her.

Frankie turned around and stood her ground. It was as useless to run as it was to stop, so she made her decision.

“KATIE!”

She smiled as she called her big sister’s name, like she’d just come home from a long trip. Katie’s own face was smiling, too, if only in some shallow bloodthirsty glee.

“I’ll kill you, I’ll kill you-“

“D-do you…”

“I’LL KILL YOU!”

“D-do you wanna go on a ride…?!”

Katie once again tackled Frankie to the ground. Frankie’s childish response to the situation immediately faltered as she regretted every bit of it, the seconds-ago trauma of having her limb amputated now rushing back to her. She could only yelp like a dog now, the fear almost putting her to sleep.

Katie rested her hand on the girl’s skull.

Her mouth kept wording the syllable “No.” Katie noted how gross and wet she was. She could feel her teeth. Her temple. Her breathing. With the utterance of a word or a bite of her tongue. She could unravel this girl’s- her sister’s- entire head.

So why was she looking for reasons not to?

Her bratty little sister was mouthing the word “Please” now. So repetitive.

Katie sniffled as she tightened her grip.

“I was always jealous of you.” She admitted to the younger girl.

Then, a faint, glacial pop could be heard.

The sisters looked the the sky, and the moon was now many asteroids, spelling their imminent end.
