Left Behind

The sound of the doorbell interrupted Patty's kiss. Downstairs Romulus opened the door to a baffled Roman. At first, he was shocked and a sense of distrust lingered in the air. Roman narrowed his eyes at poor Romulus, who was there only to help.

Of course, nobody from the village trusted him including Roman. He couldn't understand what was going on in Zeeve's head for inviting that damn creature into their territory. Roman pushed past Romulus and screamed for Zeeve's name. Patty asked him to come upstairs, where he was met with that horrible sight of poor Zeev sweat-bathed and visibly in pain.

Although he did have a liking for Patty he couldn't forgive her for Zeeve's state. After inspecting him, Roman knew it was her fault alone... and also the fault of that beast stalking from behind the crack of the door. "You should lay your cards out for our Zeeve. He might die just because of your selfishness..."

Roman turned on his heel and left. Patty sadness driven asked Romulus to close the door and just leave them alone. Zeev opened slowly his eyes focusing on Patty. "Do you really mean it? Do you really love me?" Patty squeezed him gently. "Of course, I do, my dummy..."

The next morning Zeev felt much better but needed one additional day to fully recover. The village was on their feet to prepare for the departure. Roman came to inform them that they would leave as planned and Zeev with Patty and Romulus could catch up with them later. They couldn't postpone it for them. They must be left behind...

Zeev was very understanding and it was better for them to part ways like this, when he is not fully recovered yet. Roman gave Patty and Romulus a disapproving look before he closed the door behind him. Zeev saw it and sighed. He knew what was that about but he was patient. He will explain everything later.

Patty asked Romulus to go to the market to fetch something before it closes down so she could cook for them tonight. Romulus was excited to eat something that she will prepare for him even when he has to share it with Zeev.



Natalia was strolling around the small village market buying stuff she and her family would need. Her eyes caught on Romulus. She had no clue who he was and she was mesmerized by his handsome appearance and huge stature.

Yesterday she was with some other werewolves patroling around the forest, so she missed the arrival of the trio. She approached him with a flirty attitude but was pulled by the arm by one of the villagers. Confused she looked at that man and he just shook his head and then glared at Romulus.

Natalia looked around at the others and noticed how everybody was avoiding this beast of a werewolf. "What is going on?" The man pointed a finger at Romulus. "He is the notorious werewolf killer!" Shocked she didn't know why he was here and what's more... so peaceful looking.

The man came closer to her ear and whispered... "Zeev with that human brought him in..." If Zeev approved of him, then he should be okay. She brushed the man off of her arm and repeated her attempt. "Hello! I am Natalia! What is your name?" She stretched out her arm and looked innocently at Romulus.

His eyes narrowed on her hand and then moved to her face. He wasn't interested. He had only one on his mind... Patty. Romulus turned his back on her without a word and walked away with the produce he was asked to purchase. Natalia's ego got hurt and she walked away like a child throwing a tantrum.



In the evening Patty was cooking in the kitchen and Romulus was sitting at the table nearby observing her. Zeev was in the bedroom still resting in bed reading a book. He heard how the villagers were one by one leaving for the mountains. The lights outside of his bedroom window of the werewolf village were slowly disappearing and dipping the whole place into the darkness.

Natalia was also ready to leave, but not without a little sneak peek at Zeev before leaving. She was lurking around the house looking inside. Natalia couldn't see him but she witnessed something that made her blood boil.

That human wench of a woman snagged another handsome werewolf man! She saw Patty feeding a spoon to Romulus, who looked at her with big puppy eyes and even gifted her with a warm smile.

How could he? That man didn't even give her a second of attention and here he was all fuzzy, acting like a fool and all cute for a stupid human. Patty was just making Romulus taste the sauce she made. He happily obliged sitting on the chair and opening his mouth wide. He indeed liked it and praised her cooking.

Patty was glad and stroked his head because she knew how much he always craved this kind of affection. Romulus grabbed Patty by the wrist and pulled her into a hug thanking her to be always thoughtful of him.

Patty hugged him back but just for a little while because she didn't want to upset Zeev... now that he got better. She knew this would make him spiral again. Natalia's jealousy rose. She heard from the villagers after Romulus showed her a cold shoulder, that Zeev was feeling unwell because of Patty's involvement with Romulus and now she saw it with her own eyes.

                         Natalia swore she would make Patty pay for hurting Zeev...
