Northern Village

For the night Patty returned to the bedroom lying next to Zeev. He grabbed her into a tight hug and held her the whole night. In the morning Patty woke up first and and opened the door. Romulus who leaned on it fell to the floor in front of her.

She was left puzzled and even Zeev rose to see what that thud was. "Did you sleep here?!" Ashamed Romulus admitted it. Zeev laid back down. "How pathetic..." Patty felt bad about it and stroked the top of Romuluse's head. "You dummy, I prepared a bedroom for you, why didn't you use it?"

He avoided looking at her. "I prefer to be nearby. That room is too far away." Romulus looked down the hallway at the door of that supposed bedroom. Zeev played a tough guy, but on the inside he understood. Since Patty yesterday told him the truth... he could smell it... he decided to cut some slack for Romulus. He knew she was caressing him right now.

After the breakfast, everybody got ready for the hike to the north. Romulus suddenly stopped in his tracks. His ears twitched from side to side. "We have company..." Zeev exchanged glances with him and then with Patty.

Zeev instantly hatched a plan. "We will run to the south and when we reach the river we will go along where there will be no snow and return back heading north. I will take the bags and you Romulus will take Patty. It will be easier for her to hold to you than to me."

In this dangerous situation, Romulus wagged his tail. Not because of the military showing up, but because he could finally carry Patty on his back. The soldiers were combing through the empty abandoned village. The trio slipped away heading south and turned at the river north as planned. They were happy they went unnoticed.

It took almost a whole day until they reached their desired destiny. Patty was half frozen by that point. Romulus wanted to warm her up but Zeev wrapped his arm around her and pushed him away. They growled at each other and Patty just rolled her eyes.

Zeev headed straight to the house to start the fire so she would get warm. Patty could finally see how werewolves lived. They had one main village and multiple small ones. They used those places accordingly to cater to their needs.

Zeeves parent's house looked more like a cabin. It consisted of a living and kitchen area with the door right in the middle, one bathroom, and two bedrooms. After they put down their luggage and relaxed a little, Patty prepared some dinner for all of them and then they were ready to go sleep.

Romulus surprised both Zeev and Patty carrying his single bed to the master bedroom. "NO!" Zeev shouted at him. Romulus didn't give a damn and looked Zeev straight into his eyes as he was putting the bed down to the floor and then pushed it against the kingsize bed.

That made Zeev furious. "Get the heck out of here! Sleep in that other bedroom or in front of the door I don't care, just not here!" Romulus did not listen and fell on the bed inching closer to the edge of the small bed, so he would be closer to Patty.

Zeev was left baffled and angry. He growled, pulled Patty to the other side of the bed, and exchanged the place with her lying down in between Romulus and Patty. He doesn't have the power to physically move Romulus, so he opted for this solution.

The next morning the trio went "shopping" to the village market. Everybody was avoiding Patty and Romulus. On one side they were angry at Patty and on the other, they feared Romulus. Zeev couldn't force any communication just to tolerate those two.

Natalia angrily watched from the shadows contemplating her next move. She wanted to use Romuluse's affection for that human wench against her. She needed just a few minutes alone with Romulus... The next days were peaceful, they even got used to that new "sleep arrangement".

At last, Natalia got her chance. One day Romulus went to buy some produce by himself. Patty was cooking and Zeev was cutting wood behind the cottage. Natalia appeared from behind a tree as he was on the way "home". She acted nonchalantly looking at her nails.

"I know you would like to monopolize that human woman for yourself alone." Romulus stopped and turned towards her. She knew she piqued his interest. "I can make it happen? Just need some help from you... that's all."

Angrily he walked over and towered over her glaring down at Natalia. "Why should I trust you? I heard about your shenanigans." She became a little flustered and nervous. "Well, you see I want Zeev and you want that human wen... woman. We can help each other out and we both will get what we truly wish for... So what do you say?!"

Romulus squinted his eyes at her, leaned in with his arm resting on the tree trunk, and looked down at her... "So what do I need to do?!" Natalia smirked and gestured for him to get closer to her so she could whisper her plan to him.

                   He did what she said and turned with his ear towards her lips.
