Chapter 4

 The following week , Amilda took up her cloth and wore it.

She smiled as she remembered what happened with her the past few days. How Aayan had saved her from her aunt's wrath and how he decided to helped her in doing the work.

She smiled remembering how Aayan had kissed her unknowingly. It was the first time she felt peace in his arms.

She heard a knock on the door and hurried in putting on her cloth as she thought of her aunt being by the door side.

"Amilda!" She heard Aayan call her and smiled.

She packed her hair and covered it while looking at the mirror.

She put her hands on her face.

"Am I in love with him?" She asked herself smiling.

She smiled and shook her head.

"I can't really be in love with him. He hasn't slept with me for a week." She said to herself then walked to the door.

She smiled as she saw Aayan but tried to hide it.

"Can we?" Aayan asked and she nodded her head.

Aayan had been helping her early in the morning to do the house chores.

He has a job which he does but presently the organization he works for have given them three months break.

"Aayan!" Amilda called and Aayan smiled because it is the first time she will call him by his name and not Saab Avil.

"Yes my love." He answered and she smiled.

Aayan looked at her and smiled. He was happy that he had already got her to smile to him.

"Aayan!" Amilda called again trying to help herself not to smile.

Aayan raised his wrist up then looked at Amilda.

"Let's go do the chores before Muni wakes." Aayan said and she nodded her head.

They quickly headed to the living room.

"I would take care of the living room, you can go to the kitchen." Aayan said and Amilda went to the kitchen to make breakfast.

She knew what to prepare for breakfast as her aunt had already given her what to cook for the week a day before.

After cleaning the living room, Aayan went into the kitchen to inform Amilda that he is done with the living room.

"Amilda, I will be heading to the bathroom." He said and she nodded her head.

"Alright." She said.

He walked to the bathroom while Amilda continued cooking.

When she was done, she rested for some minutes then went to the latrine and started cleaning.

Minutes later, her aunt walked into the latrine and she shivered as she taught her aunt had seen Aayan helping her.

"You are really doing a great job." Muni said and left.

Seeing this, Amilda breathed out been happy that her aunt didn't find Aayan.

Done with the latrine, she walked into the store room and found Aayan there.

He was cleaning the store room.

Amilda walked up to him and wrapped her hands around his waist.

He smiled and turned around. He cupped her face and peck her on the forehead.

"I was scared thinking that Aunt had caught you." She said and Aayan laughed.

"I was almost caught but I had already finished with the cleaning. I went to hide myself by the back of the door when I felt someone was approaching.

She came to inspect the bathroom and after that left. I was able to run to the store room after that." He said and Amilda began to laugh.

" I am very proud of you my wise love. " She said and Aayan felt happy hearing her call him her love.

Aayan spread out his arm to her for a hug which she accepted by running into his hands.

" I love you. " He said holding her to himself.

She looked at him lips and pressed her lips against his lips.

They both had a passionate kiss as their hands ran over each other's body.

After a while, they broke their kiss and Aayan could see tears form Amilda's face.

Amilda laughed as she cried and hugged Aayan.

"You have to be gentle." Aayan said putting her away.

"This is our final place so I will suggest that we should do this together as time is almost gone. I don't want Muni to ever find out that I am helping you." He said and Amilda nodded.

Amilda looked at the floor and then at Aayan.

"Have you swept there?" She asked pointing to the beginning of the room.

"Yes I have, my love." Aayan said.

Amilda smiled and ran to get a mop which she can use in mopping the floor.

She began to mop while Aayan swept off the remaining dust.

After some minutes, they were done cleaning the house and walked out of the store room.

They heard footsteps coming towards them and stood still.

Amilda began to shiver knowing that it was her aunt. She feared that her aunt was going to suspect that Aayan had been helping her.

"Keep going Amilda, I will go to the kitchen." Aayan said and Amilda nodded as her aunt was going to think Aayan wanted some water.

"Are you done cleaning the house?" Muni asked when she saw Amilda walking down.

"Yes I am." Amilda said.

Aayan walked out of the kitchen with a glass cup but stood still seeing his sister in law.

He feared that she was going to find out that he helped Amilda in the chores if she sees him so he turned back into the kitchen.

Minutes later, he began to hear Muni footstep coming towards the kitchen and went to hide himself.

Muni got into the kitchen and took up a glass cup which she filled with water.

"I have to find out how she has been doing the chores so fast." She said leaning on the cabin. "I woke up early today so that I can get if she is being helped but I found no one helping her."

She took in a deep breath and continued.

"Talking about being helped, there is no one in this house who can help her except Aayan." She said and kept her hand on her jaw. "Speaking about Aayan, I have to go to his room to know if he is in the room.

With this she got up to her feet.

Aayan who heard all she said thought of a way to get to his room before her.

" I need to distract her. " He said to himself.

He got up from where he had hidden himself and adjusted his cloth.

He looked around to be sure his sister in law was no longer in the kitchen.

Sure that his sister in law was no longer in the kitchen, he took the risk of passing the short cut to his room.

It is risky because it is the darkest place in the house and no one dares pass through there early in the morning.

Getting to his room, he immediately entered and shut it close, he walked to his room with the cup of water in his hands.

He dropped it on the little table in his room and laid on his bed.

A minute later, Muni got to his door and knocked to be sure he was in.

"Yes, who is that?" He lazily asked after the third knock so that Muni would think that she just woke him.

"This is Amilda." Muni said trying to get him to let her know if he helped Amilda.

Aayan smiled and decided to play along.

"What do you want at this time?" He asked.

"I just want to thank you for helping me clean the house." Muni said and Aayan began to laugh.

"Are you hallucinating?, I didn't help you." He said.

"Why are you like this. You helped me." She said and Aayan smiled.

"I didn't help you and I would advice that you go finish up your work before Muni comes out." He said.

"Please you should stop hallucinating. I would see you in the afternoon." He said and stopped speaking.

Muni smiled seeing that her brother in law didn't help Amilda in doing the chores and thinks that she is hallucinating.

Hours later, Aayan walked out of the room and saw Amilda standing while Muni was eating.

He looked at Amilda then walked to have his sit beside Muni.

Amilda looked at him with pain in her eyes as he has not sat with her aunt in a long time.

Muni smiled looking at Amilda.

"He is only doing this because he hates people hallucinating." She thought.

"Get his meal!" She ordered Amilda who painfully went to get his meal.

Muni looked at Aayan and touched his hair.

"Why?" She asked and Aayan understood what she was asking about.

"You know I love your niece but I do not like when people hallucinate." He said and Muni smiled.

"What exactly happened?" She asked.

"Your niece was hallucinating this morning saying I helped her which I didn't." He said.
