Chapter 3:

The smell of blood Part 1

Gurren shinigami volume 1

NAOKO POV

That vampire when he realised our presence ran away.

"I'm going after him."

"Ok Kaien.Take care."

I checked on Chisaki's pulse. She was alright. But something got into me...It was the smell of her blood.

What am I saying?Why I am thinking such things?I treated Chisaki's wound.It wasn't serious.

KAIEN POV

Damn, that vampire ran away.I saw Naoko spacing out.

"Hey,Naoko..."

"Ah!You scared me!"

"Something is wrong?"

"Oh everything it is fine..."

"Remember I am a wolf."

"I am worried about Chi..."

"She will be ok.Trust me."

I am not good at lying. Some people say werewolves know whether you are lying or not.Mr Arima brought a friend and erased Chisaki's memories.

An other boring day at school passed. But still my mind was thinking about the smell of Chisaki's blood.

"Mr Arima?"

"Yes,Naoko?"

"What is your opinion about vampires?"

"I don't have anything against vampires.I wish we could get along."

"I never thought that dad would say such thing.I consider vampires as bloodsucking monsters who need blood to survive."

"Now Kaien,I know many people say that vampires and werewolves ae natural enemies.I agree they need blood to survive. And werewolves hunt in order to survive."

I never thought mr Kamui was thinking like that for vampires.Kaien's answer...To be frank I expected it.

I had nightmares that I bit Chisaki...

"What kind of monster am I"

That was my thought...This feeling of suffering, agony.I was trapped inside my own head,my thoughts were killing me.

KAIEN POV

After Chisaki was bitten by that unknown vampire Naoko acted kind of strange. Why would she ask about dad's opinion about vampires?

And dad?Wishing to get along with our enemies? This is odd.The next day dad and I were called to investigate.Outside our area a deer was bitten.

"They look like fangs but not a wolf's fangs."

"That's right my son.The fangs of a wolf can cause more damage."

"Well whoever did that was lucky that he didn't hunt to our area.Right dad?"

"Right."
