Chapter 37:

Werewolf Fight

Beasted

"You TOOK her from ME!" Romulus attacked Zeev head-on. He tackled him inside causing a huge commotion. Patty didn't even have the time to react. She was mortified by all the fur and blood that began to stain the interior of the cabin. "STOP IT!!!" she shouted but Romulus didn't listen.

He proved, that he has an upper hand over Zeev because of the gene manipulations in his past. Despite Zeev transforming into his werewolf form, he was barely standing a chance against a furious Romulus.

Zeev got pushed into a corner taking hit after hit from Romuluse's claws tearing him slowly to shreds. Patty couldn't watch anymore. She rather would sacrifice herself, than be left behind after Zeev's death. She threw herself in between them while Romulus was swinging for another blow.

Romulus couldn't stop at the right time. His claws tore open her left shoulder and made her fly to the side. Romulus was left mortified. "NO! I... I..." Only this made him stop taking a step back absorbing that copper scent of her blood, which was dripping down from his claws.

He was looking at his shaking hand in disbelief. That shock made him stumble and fall backward to the floor. Zeev was in bad shape but his priority was Patty of course and he crawled towards her.

She sat up holding her shoulder with the other arm and concerned looked over Zeev if he was still alive. He was fine, well, not deadly wounded. Romulus roughed him up but since he was a werewolf it would heal in no time.

On the other hand, Patty was just a mere human, those wound will take their time to heal. She didn't care. First, she looked over Zeev who pressed his forehead against hers after confirming that she was okay. "I should check on Romulus now..." She looked with her pleading eyes towards Zeev.

He scoffed but didn't stop her from it. They both put two and two together and figured out that their night together triggered Romuluse's extreme reaction. Romulus now naked lying in his human form had an absent look in his eyes. Patty slowly wobbled towards him grabbing a blanket on the way towards him. She covered his injured body with it.

His head was turned away from her. She cautiously touched him. He flinched and got snapped out of that state. He looked at her with apologetic puppy eyes. His gaze fell on the slashes he caused her. He lowered his head. "I promised I would never cause you any harm... I broke my promise... once more. I am so sorry! Please forgive me!"

He was this huge monster of a werewolf on the outside but still, inside his heart, he was a hurt child who got jealous and threw a tantrum. A dangerous indeed but he never learned how to channel his emotions, especially the negative ones.

Patty felt it was also her fault because she treated him like any other person. He needed a different special approach since he wasn't really socialized and adapted to the outside world. She took his head into a huge hug and placed a kiss on the top of his head.

He was stunned into silence and began to cry. A river of tears finally escaped his eyes expressing his inner pain and conflict. Finally, he could freely show his feelings to the world which he had held for so long.

The beaten-up villagers came to check on the morning commotion. Roman all patched up ran into the cottage. He was horrified about the state of the inside. "WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED HERE?!" Zeev stood up from the floor moaning out of pain. "Romulus went nuts a little..."

Roman with his scrutinizing glare looked Romulus up and down. How dare he! Patty placed herself between Roman and Romulus. Roman sniffed around in the air and immediately he knew what this was all about. With a shocked face, he turned towards Zeev. "Did you and her... together?! HOW?"

Zeev smirked. "I told you, I have my instincts under control." Patty unamuzed looked at him. "If you call that what happened yesterday under control, then fine..." She then smiled at him. Romulus placed hands over his ears. He didn't want to hear any detail about that. Zeev successfully stole Patty from him. She became his official mate.

It came time to patch the two up. Firstly she tended to Zeev of course in their bedroom. Romulus was unusually in a different room. He never stayed apart... He was sulking in his own room. Blood dripping all over it...

Patty walked in with the first aid kid in her hands. Romulus, silent, looking out of the window, didn't even acknowledge her presence inside. He was in bad shape from the night before and now had new injuries after the fight with Zeev. "I am sorry Romulus. But you knew already, that I belong to Zeev."

With a sad nod, he agreed. "I didn't want it to come true. I wished I met you first." He turned with those sorrowful eyes towards her. "Does it hurt?" She reached out and caressed his face. "Don't worry, I am fine and it doesn't. You barely touched me." She lied to ease his guilt.

After she was done with Romulus, she gave him some space. In the evening Romulus came into Zeev's bedroom to have "the talk." Instead, they had a verbal fight. Romulus planned to leave them both. He wished to give them space from him.

Zeev fought him on it. After he saw the nightly werewolf aftermath, he got his concerns about him and Patty living with the other werewolf villagers. He needed an ally to protect her and now Romulus came to tell him he was leaving?

"I have to... I can't stand looking at you and Patty being all cozy together. Not after I learned I will never will be anything more than just a stupid friend... I will leave tonight." Romulus slammed the door behind him. He didn't want for Zeev to see his eyes filled with tears.

After dinner, he packed his few belongings and shut the door of the cabin behind him.
