Chapter 17:

Unraveling the past

The broken bond

"Your parents are the most wonderful people, I have ever meet. Your dad was an envoy from Nihon. Hiroshi Sato one of the powerful mage from Nihon and your mom Nikhit Ernger was one of the prominent figures in the royal army. Your mom and I were tasked to guide your Hiroshi. I as the mage leader had to became the mediator between Nihon and Zenaad. Before King Tadashi came to power the mages of Zenaad are always neutral as they are only loyal to magic and knowledge.

As time goes by Nihon and Zenaad established a friendly diplomatic relationship. Hiroshi introduced new magic spells and they were recorded in the book you saw at Ethos. He always loved Zenaad as it has strong bond with the magic elements. He was fascinated on how  even non mage can wield magic with the help of the spirits.

Your mom on the other head she always advocates equality for commoners. She was the most powerful fighter and the way you fight reminded me of her. Both of them slowly felt in love and got married with the king's blessing.

Problem began to occur when Prince Rehan's mom died mysteriously and the King quickly got married to Queen Yuki Yamada. The citizen began to discriminate the outsiders. Your dad was getting hurt constantly. The soldiers gave your mom a dirty look as if she betrayed her people. Both of them decided to get away and seek refuge at middle of the Lexdon forest.

Your parents wanted to leave Zenaad and build a new life at Nihon. But whoever is bonded to a spirit they can't leave Zenaad. So your father began to experiment to release your mom from her bonding. Every time you went out to the forest. Your dad tired endlessly to break the bond. When he finally succeeded your mom's spirit Bellique became  a gloom and attacked your parents. Bellique disappeared when your discovered your parents. I came on time because Lexdon alerted me on what happened.

Lexdon and I always regretted. "We have been carrying this guilt," he began, his voice strained with emotion, "ever since that day... when I arrived too late." Each syllable seemed to echo with the ache of remorse as he struggled to articulate the depths of his regret. "I should have been there... I should have acted sooner," he continued, his tone tinged with sorrow and self-reproach.

Arna was too stunned. Her belief and her view on Royals and Nobles were crumbling beneath her feet. So why was she working so hard to rebel against the monarchy and the elitist society. The only reason for her to keep on fighting the blue bloods, so that no family would suffer like her family. Why did her dad told her a lie. He had no reason too. Why lie about her parents being killed by the royals for them rebelling. She knew that even her father can never answer her never-ending questions in her head.
