Chapter 9:

THE Ayane Nao

The Lifeless Supermoon: A fateful encounter

"Ayane?", said the passenger, who was actually a student of the school that they had just crossed, having brown hair, which was slightly long and darker as it went down.

Seeing her reaction, Kanako went in between them. He was definitely a part of Ayane's past, and he couldn't let that aside.

"Who are you, what do you want?", said Kanako, in an aggressive tone.

The boy tried to reach out for Ayane, but stopped midway. His eyes became moist, as if something has been eating him out from the inside for the past year.

But he realised, his dreams was too far fetched from reality. His actions were irreversible.

Ayane's feet were trembling with fear. He noticed it too. Maybe there was no option of redemption. Not only that, Kanako was standing in their way. Having no option, he just smiled.

"I am Masato. Sorry for bothering.", he said in a saddened tone.

Just as he said that, the train stopped. It was a station. Without delay, he got off the train. Kanako was still on the defensive, while trying to calm down Ayane too.

The doors closed behind him, and the train again started its journey, without any emotions to spare.

His face broke down. He had one chance, and he missed it.

"I guess theres nothing I can do now, can I?"

His heart cried out as he looked at the train going past his field of view, trying to scream his apology, but it failed.

His body felt weak. His legs couldn't support the burden he was carrying, as it collapsed on the bench. The memories of his dark past started to haunt him again.

It was just a few years before, when they were in junior high...

"... and that completes you homeroom assignment. And also, we are having a new transfer student. Ayane, you can come in."

The doors of the classroom opened as she came inside, reflecting all the light that fell on her, like the moon or even better. Her blonde hair surrounded her body, protecting her from all the bad.

The class went silent as the fell in shock. It was something spectacular for them to comprehend. It was, after all, Ayane Nao. THE Ayane Nao. The one that the students of their age idolize. And she was there, in front of their eyes, and the real one was better than the one on screen. People tend to forget that those people are real people too. With real warmth of their skin and real emotions.

But it their little minds couldn't realise that fact, which scarred Ayane's mind completely...
