Obey

"I don't know how much I can hold if dad does it to me again.", she said, recalling her past memories that haunted her.

"... can I even call him my dad?", she added, with pure grief.

Although her mother supported her all she could with the little time she got, her father was the opposite, who ended up being an alcoholic and started abusing both her and her mother. For this reason, at last, her mother got divorced and lived with her daughter.

Just as she thought disaster was over, it came again.

"I am going to work. Stay safe.", said her mother, in front of the door.

"Okay mom. Return home soon.", said Ayane.

"There are some leftovers in the fridge. If you feel hungry, you can eat those."

"Sure mom."

"Well then-"

She closed the door. Ayane was still in elementary school that time. Although it was tough for her to stay alone at home, she had a strong mentality. It was becoming more and more normal for her to live alone like this.

She went to the living room, passing her time watching television.

"It's been almost two hours since mom left..."

She felt a bit bored, which led to her walking around the house. Just when she was infront of the entrance door, a knock could be heard.

It was aggressive. The knock had an aggressive tone to it, and it got louder and angrier as the time passed.

"It's me. Open up!", the voice sounded oddly familiar.

"D-dad?", cried Ayane, she was scared.

"Listen here! I know you have the keys to the door! Open up!"

She didn't respond, hoping he would go away. Her heart trembled at his voice, remembering the torture she had to go through.

"Why the heck did you spill the tea?!", exclaimed her father, in anger.

"I-I am s-sorry.", said Ayane with fear, and her hands shaking.

"Please stop it dear. Shes just a child. She made a mistake. Please leave her alone.", said her mother, protecting her.

"You don't have to teach me what to do!", said he, knocking her mother down.

She fell down to the ground covering her head with her hands, trembling in fear, which agitated her father.

"Stand up."

She stood up, following his order. It was the only way to survive, she thought.

But as soon as she stood up, he hit her with a belt on her legs, making her fall to the ground again.

"Stand up.", he said, hitting her in her arms.

"Obey. Obey. Obey. Obey. I-if I have to survive, I have to obey.", she thought.

Her eyes went cloudy. Before she knew it, tears came rolling down her face.
