Chapter 18:

The Supermoon.

The Lifeless Supermoon: A fateful encounter

The owner of the horses got up on the cart and whipped his leash, to which the horses started walking forward. The rhythmic sound of their footsteps was giving off a calm yet powerful sound, which resembled the sound of peace and war at the same time.

The horse went through the various cages which kept animals, sometimes inddors and sometimes outdoors. Varying its pace, it went through almost all of the places that they wanted to go.

"This is fun!", Ayane said.

"That's good to hear."

The horses were almost about to comple their lap, when they came across a lake. Oddly enough, there was a lake in the middle of the zoo, which held the ecosystem of the water.

"Kanko-kun, there is a pond."

"I know. They have various kinds of fishes there."

"I don't get it."

She surprisingly got transformed into her chibi form to make up for the tiny brain she had.

"Fishes live under water, so they connot be seen from above, right?"

"Yes."

"Then why is there a pond in the zoo if nobody can see the fish?"

"Why do you think?"

"I don't know."

"Do you want to know?"

"Sure!"

Stopping the cart, Kanako went down first, reaching out his hand to Ayane to safely get down.

He was searching for something.

"There it is!"

Ayane didn't let go of his hand after she got down from the cart, and with that, Kanako and Ayane went to the underwater aquarium.

"Oooo!", Ayane exclaimed with star eyes seeing the huge variety of sea animals.

"Now you get it?"

"Yeah!"

Kanako remembered something. He was so into this date that he almost forgot about it.

"Ayane-chan, stay here for a second.", he said, putting Ayane infront of the huge underwater aquarium.

"-chan?", her heart skipped a bit and she instantly became redder than a tomato.

"What's wrong?", Kanako asked.

"N-nothing!"

Kanako in the mean time, backed out a bit. Taking out a camera, he looked through it.

"Ayane-chan, look here and smile!"

"Critical damage.", she said to herself. But she had to respond, so she shook it off and looked at the camera.

Kanako's eyes widened at the thing that he was seeing in front of him. The redness of her cheeks, the happiness in her face, the glitter in her eyes, the warmth of her heart, it was as if she was pouring down the lost feelings she had locked up for so long.

-clack-

It was the best picture. That smile had no words, no tears, nothing but pure happiness.

"A-amazing."

She was quite dumbfounded at Kanako's expression. She hurried to him, to see if anything is wrong.

"What's wrong?"

Her eyes locked on to the picture. She herself was shocked.

"I didn't know I could smile like that."

"Kawaii.", he still couldn't take his eyes off the picture.

As if Ayane's face wasn't red enough, it became even more red. She quickly turned around to hide her face.

"Ayane-chan, can I ask you something?"

She looked back, wondering what he would ask.

"Can I name this picture 'The Supermoon'?"

Her eyes glittered. A named picture? She was shocked to find how much he liked that picture. It was a name that was unique and simple too.

"Okay!", she said with a smile.
