Chapter 50:

Chapter 50: Miraculous Awakening

Howl

Present Day:
Everyone looked at the newly transformed Amber with anger and concern while she stared down at them, a smug grin on her face. They were all hesitant to attack, not knowing how strong she had truly gotten. Then one of the hyena siblings, Ed, stepped forward. He tried to look confident, but was sweating as he got closer. “So you transformed, big whoop!” He hollered, “We can all do it! What makes your's so threatening, uh?!” Amber didn't reply, but instead readied herself by crouching slightly before launching forward. She pushed off with such power and was so fast the only thing others felt was a gust of wind pass them. It had all happened so quickly from her on top of the rubble to behind Ed who’s false confidence turned into concern. As he tried to take a step, his head fell completely off along with upper body. Everyone stared in horror as Ed’s body lay in three pieces while Amber turned back around to face everyone. “Now that you've seen how this'll end for all of you, just know some will suffer longer than others.”
As everyone attempted to re-ready themselves, Amber went on the attack, moving swiftly slicing through more unprepared experiments. And as their bodies fell, everyone decided to scatter for distance. Though they were now not all together, Amber’s speed was still more than enough to catch each one. One of the bird experiments tried to fly away, but grabbed them by the neck, digging her claws into the sides and using the other hand to ram it through their chest. She threw them aside, aiming her sights on Mr. Moleman and the Bear-girl. She charged at both them, Bear-girl standing in front of Mr. Moleman to protect him met her end as Amber kicked her in the head, snapping her neck. Then using both her hands, she used all her claws to impale Moleman’s stomach, then picked him up and threw him into the side of a car.
Some of the experiments had decided to fight back, three of the remaining lionesses had charged at Amber together, however they were unable to land a single attack. Amber stabbed one of them in the throat, another she back-kicked and crushed her ribs into her lungs, and the third Amber removed her hand then doubled slashed her across the chest. The Cobra-man threw a flurry of punches and when none of them landed he tried to bite her and inject his venom. However, Amber dodged the bite, then grabbed both his upper and lower jaw, ripping them in half. Leona came from behind to attack, but was stopped when Amber backfisted and kicked her away. The remaining two hyenas siblings threw an easily avoided ambush followed by Hydra getting slashed in the eyes then upward slashed in the back. Hyde was socked in the stomach and backhanded away. Gorilla-man was the next to lose his life after he had jumped high in the sky and attempted to slam both his fists against her head. She dodged it then quick as a flash grabbed his head and snapped his neck.
Every experiment soon realized running or hiding wasn't going to be an option, so they all ganged up on Amber in an attempt to do some kind of damage. But their efforts were for nothing as she would kill one or two then simply smack another away as a way to keep the “fun” going. Leona and the twins were among those not to be killed instantly, however in midst of the assault, Amber knocked multiple of them away along with the twins. As they were sent flying back and hit the ground, a large chunk of a six-story building came falling down causing a big dust cloud.
As the dust settled, Ezekiel groaned trying to get up, “Uuuugh, this sucks so much.” He limped around to find Belle and as more of the dust blew away, he looked at the fallen building only for his eyes to fill with despair. “NOOOOOO!!!!!” He screamed at the top of his lung, causing some of the other experiments including Leona to look over at what happened. Her face changed into dread as she saw Belle, her lower half crushed under the building. Both Leona and Ezekiel ran toward Belle while she lay twitching under the building. Ezekiel slid beside Belle, lifting up her head while Leona tried to lift up the large piece. Belle grabbed Ezekiel’s arm, “I don't wanna die…please, I don't wanna die…” She pleaded as she sobbed. Ezekiel stroked her head, “No, you're fine, everything's fine. You're not gonna die.” He tried to calm her down, holding back his own tears. Leona continued to struggle lifting the piece up, “I-I can't, I'm too weak! It's too heavy!” While Leona struggled and Ezekiel tried to keep Belle calm, she leaned her head back to look up at the sky. It began to turn gray with clouds rolling over the island, soon the boom of thunder sounded and small drops of rain started falling that quickly began to pick up.
As Belle’s life faded, she muttered her final words: “I'm….sorry Ferral.…I couldn't….keep….our….promise…” Her eyes glazed over and slowly released her grip from Ezekiel’s arm. Both Leona and him looked down heartbroken, the heavy rain concealing both their tears. Ezekiel gently set down Belle's head and got up, the two clenching their fists letting their rage boil over. “You piece of shit BITCH!” Ezekiel seized through gritted teeth. “I'll FUCKING kill you!” Leona muttered angrily to herself. “YOU'RE DEAD!!!!” The two shouted simultaneously then charged together at Amber. Through the battle, she felt them coming and turned around with a smirk as she punched Leona in the right cheek, but had no effect. Amber looked at her in surprise then Leona slammed her left fist into her face, following up with an upwards kick to the jaw, finally Ezekiel came in with a kick straight to Amber’s stomach. The two unleashed several more strikes before double punching, sending her flying and crashing into a semi truck. The two panted with exhaustion after their assault, everyone else who were on the ground looked at the two in awe. Amber ripped open a hole in the side of the trunk’s trailer and hopped out, looking all them unphased and only her bodysuit was a little ripped up.
She turned her attention toward Leona and Ezekiel, and smiled. “My my, there still seems to be plenty of fight left in you two.” She placed her left hand on her neck and stretched both sides, “But don't worry, I'll fix that.” She dashed forward at Ezekiel who didn't have enough time to react and she socked him in the gut, followed by grabbing his face and slamming his head into the ground. She kicked him in the jaw, sending him sliding back against some rumble. Leona went for another attack, but was dodged and Amber slashed upwards against her chest then kicked away, landing next to Ezekiel. The cuts weren't deep enough to be fatal, but they were enough to strain her from getting up. As the rain poured, the few remaining experiments laid defeated and unable to continue fighting. Amber placed her right hand on her hip and cocked her head as she grinned evilly at the carnage.
Meanwhile:
Ferral's eyes shot open finally awake, strained to get up and could only lay on all fours. He looked as the sky began to turn gray and clouds rolled in over the island. Small drops of rain started to fall and quickly began to pick up. Starting to remember what happened and why we were alone, he tched knowing his friends were most likely fighting his mo…no, that woman. He couldn't pick up on anyone's scent because of the heavy rain, just like he couldn't the day his mother was killed. He lowered his head and stared at the ground, thinking the worst. He gritted his teeth, “Damnit…” He muttered, “DAMNIT!!!” He shouted as he punched the ground a few times in anger before looking out in the distance. “I'm never there when it really matters. To help or save the people I care about.” He got up, stumbling as he stood straight. “I hate that. I hate not being there or being strong enough when they're in trouble.” He clenched his fists so tightly blood ran down the sides of his hands. “They’ll lose their lives because of me…everyone here will lose their life because of me…”
As self anger toward himself grew, one of the bug drones watched him from above, showing Dr. Atlas and all the scientists in facility Ferral. While they watched, Atlas crossed his arms and smirked. He knew THIS was the moment….
Back to Ferral who finally let out an enraged scream at the sky, he continued as the rain blocked out sound, soon his body pulsed the same way it did when he went berserk against Leonidas. Ferral transformed into that giant state, throwing his fists back as he continued to roar at the sky. “GROAAARR!!!!” As this continued, his body began to shrink, causing the scientists who watched to stare in confusion. “GROOAA-aaaaah!” His scream started to sound human again as he body started to revert to its original transformed state. But this time, his fur was no longer bluish-black, but became pitch black. His canines and hair grew slightly longer, and his eyes that were once amber became a scarlet red. Once his metamorphosis was complete, Dr. Atlas stood up and called everyone's attention. “Ladies and gentlemen, may I introduce you to our GREATEST creation. Experiment 9320…Hellhound.”
Ferral stared again off into the distance, feeling this sudden surge of strength. All his senses were heightened far more than before, so much he could hear the hum of the drone even through the rain. He turned his head around and looked up, snarling at the drone, but in reality at all the scientists in the Facility. Even though they were miles away, each one of the scientists felt this sense of fear wash over them with just a stare. Even Dr. Atlas gulped a little nervous. Ferral turned his head back in front and could finally catch all the scents of everyone, so he started to sprint which soon turned into him drooling and running on all fours….
As Amber looked down at all the remaining experiments, just as she was about to finish each of them off, she picked a sudden scent that was coming closer at a fast rate. Soon, Ferral leaped out between two buildings, stopping himself by grinding his feet against the ground. Everyone, even Amber, gazed at Ferral's sudden arrival. As he started walking toward them, Amber turned fully around and walked toward him. “Well, you finally decided to come out of hiding?” Ferral did not respond as the two got closer, “Good, I thought I was going to have to track you down. But here you are, my-” Amber abruptly stopped after feeling the wind get knocked out of her. It was Ferral who had socked her hard in the gut, holding her so she didn't go flying back. She fell to her knees in pain, trying to process how he was so fast. She looked up in rage to see Ferral staring down at her, a bolt of lighting shooting across the sky behind him, revealing an emotionless expression as he turned back and continued walking. Once reached everyone else, he looked down at Leona and Ezekiel, and gave a small smile as he stuck out his hands.
The two grabbed them and he lifted them both up, Leona holding her chest to stop the blood gave Ferral a jealous smile. “Damn you, you idiot,” She scoffed, “I had everything under control until you showed up.” He chuckled, “I'm sure you did.” He sarcastically replied. “Ferral,” Ezekiel started, “Belle, she's..” Ferral raised his hand to stop him and looked to see all the others. He noticed the wounded…and the dead, he even recognized among the fallen those he knew. Then his attention turned to the fallen building, he looked down to see Belle's lifeless body under it. Ferral's eyes widened slightly as he tried to control his emotions, closing his eyes and taking a deep breath. Exhaling, he opened his eyes and placed a hand on Ezekiel's shoulder. “I'm sorry,” He said, “All of this is my fault.” Leona and Ezekiel looked at each other confused, and before they could say anything, Ferral turned around to face Amber who had finally started to get up. “But I'm going to make it right. I WILL win.”
As Ferral walked over toward Amber, she got up still holding her stomach and smiled angrily at him. “So! You’re truly going to challenge me?!” He stopped again, staring at her with seriousness. “No, you've taken too many lives today.…I'm gonna kill you.” She stepped back a little, as if the words themselves scared her. Regaining her composure, she chuckled, “Is that so? Our last encounter didn't go exactly well, so what makes you think this one wil-” She was stopped again mid sentence by Ferral who punched her right in the jaw, sending her against the side building. She bounced off it and stumbled to secure her footing. “I'm tired of hearing you talk!” Ferral shouted, “Let's end this thing right here! RIGHT NOW!!!!” He roared; Amber wiping the blood from her lip and her once confident demeanor changed into sadistic anger. “Fine then! I'll drag you back as a corpse!!” The two rushed at each other, locking other's hands with their own and slamming their heads together as another boom of thunder and bolt of lighting shot across the sky.
