I hate her...

"What do you want, nee-san...", Ayane asked, looking away with a painful expression.

"Woah, YOU, think YOU didn't know WHY I came HERE?!?", she yelled, before pushing her to the ground.

She was Sakiko, Ayane's cousin on the dad's side of her family. She had long purplish hair, and had a bad temper.

Looking down at Ayane who fell to the ground, she somewhat felt a sense of relief.

"Good grief.", she exclaimed, "look at you! You pour soul!", she said with a grin.

She was always jealous of Ayane, who was the center of attention. At any family events, it was Ayane that they were talking about.

"Oh, Ayane-chan! Look at you!", their grandmother exclaimed. It was a random family gathering.

"I know right!", said their grandfather. Although they are now both dead.

The people around them laughed, as grandma was rubbing Ayane's cheeks.

"Gandma! It hurts!", Ayane said, mumbling.

"Ayane-chan is now 5 years old now, right?", her grandma asked.

"No! I am 6!", Ayane said, pouting.

"I see I see, thats amazing, Ayane-chan!", exclaimed her grandma, stroking her head, while smiling.

But on the other side, at a corner, was Sakiko and her parents, clenching their teeth and jealous of Ayane's success.

"Sakiko, why can't you be like her?", her father said in an angry tone, "She is making a name for herself, and you are here wasting your time."

"But dad-"

"No words while your father is speaking!", her mother shouted at her, but such that the others does not hear. She gripped her hands so tightly that she felt the pain.

"Mom... it hurts..."

"You useless little human.", her father exclaimed, before going away from the room.

This incident scarred her so deeply that she started to hate herself too. She was almost equal in age of Ayane, just 1 year older, but she is still a child.

This self hatred in the young Sakiko turned to hatred towards Ayane. And she started feeling jealous. Whenever she did a mishap, whenever she tried her best, she was still compared with Ayane.

"Ayane always does better, be like her, Ayane does this, Ayane does that!", whatever she does, these words follow her. To the point that she stabbed a picture of Ayane that was in her room of them together.

"I hate her...", she said, after she decimated Ayane's face in the picture.

A few years later, one day, she woke up from sleep in the middle of the night. She was thirsty and went downstairs for some water. While passing by their parents room, she heard them chatting.

"I heard that oni-san went berserk and caused a chaos.", her father's voice mumbled through the cracks of the door.

"That means Ayane won't be able to perform anymore, as there's too many family problems.", her mother said.

Hearing those words, Sakiko felt like something heavy had been lifted off from her heart. She felt extra joyful, but she also felt a little guilty.

"I guess she deserved it.", Sakiko said to herself...
