Chapter 98:

Literature Research and Strategy Meeting

Voice Academy Diaries

From Akira's Perspective

Before we headed to Dr. Aine Kleine's residence, I had one important question: "How long will the round trip take?"

"Three days, Mof," replied Usamof.

Three days. With only a week granted, was it worth the risk? "What should we do, Mof?"

"We have no other options. Let's go."

Unable to sit idly by, I packed my bags and set off on the journey guided by Usamof. Dr. Kleine's last abode was situated in a picturesque mountain foothill, complete with crystal-clear spring water and occasionally visited by hikers.

The house was unoccupied, but with lives at stake, I felt compelled to enter without permission. The lock was no challenge with a unlocking spell at hand.

"The results of the doctor's research are in the archive, Mof," Usamof informed me.

Guided to the basement library, the air was dusty. "Geho, geho," I coughed.

"Just bear with it, Mof," advised Usamof as we lit the area with a light magic spell. Reflecting on my time in this world, I realized I had learned a diverse array of spells.

The archives housed everything from Dr. Kleine's research papers and bound volumes to rather risqué books. After three hours, I selected the most promising books to take back to the academy.

Once back, I enlisted the help of Allegro, Sonata, Chopin, Bouree, and Clara to sift through the materials for any crucial information.

"Hmm, it seems the magic to fix a soul to a body might be in a phonograph at the 130th floor of the exploration dungeon," Chopin announced, causing Allegro to react in surprise.

"The 140th floor of the dungeon?! That's beyond any student record! That's impossible," he exclaimed.

"But if there's even a slight chance, we have to try," I insisted.

"Who will pair up for the dive?" Sonata naturally questioned.

"I'll handle the male voice magic! It's about Elize; I need to take responsibility," I declared.

"Given the track record, Akira is suitable for the male voice. But who will take on the female voice for such a deep dive?"

"I will! I've ventured deep with Eric before; I can handle it," Clara volunteered.

"Alright, Akira and Clara it is! Sounds good to me!" I agreed.

Just then, the door opened—it was Eric.

"I heard you discussing the female voice magic. Sorry, but you're not fit for the task," I began to refuse him, but Eric shook his finger.

"This body, once belonged to Elize, underwent certain training that I've discovered."

"What training?"

"The high-pitched male voice magic, countertenor magic," Eric revealed.
