Chapter 48:

Desperation

My Other Half

*****************WARNING! THE MENTION OF ABUSE****************

By this time, Ivaylo was sitting at Kay's bar squeezing Marsh for every detailed information. His family members were taken into custody by the police and he didn't care right now. He wanted to know, how could Marsh allow someone to kidnap Paetyn.

At first, he was patient with him, panic wouldn't help to gather any new clues. Marsh, visibly depressed, sat behind the dimly lit bar, clutching a glass with a beer.

"Kay called me and I immediately acted on his command.
I drove my car over, stopped in front of the apartment, and waited for her. I had plans to take her to my home but as soon, as she walked out of the door she was grabbed by three human men dressed in black clothes. I rushed over and put up a fight but was overpowered."

Marsh lifted the right side of his shirt, to show the huge bruise he sustained on his ribcage.
"I was alone and too weak to take them on. She was screaming and trashing in their arms but she couldn't escape. I think, they knocked her out inside the dark car because I couldn't hear her anymore.

I have no clue, where they took her. I was adamant to follow them, but they were prepared. One of the masked men leaned out of the car and shot through my front tires and also at me. I guess it was a warning."

Marsh rubbed his eyes, so the Beast boys wouldn't see his tears and let out a huge sigh. Ivaylo jumped out of the seat to walk a little or he would start to smash things inside the bar and Kay wouldn't be very happy about that.

Kay was digging his claws into the stone part of his bar, leaving long, deep gashes. He was really pissed but not at Marsh. He understood, from his own past experiences, that sometimes no matter what, a male is powerless to protect.

They had to find her! Same, as in Ivaylo's case, he asked for help from the higher-ups but since it was about a human, it was harder to get it approved.

Ivaylo called the Chairman to use his connections. As soon, as he heard what happened to Paetyn, he made a bunch of calls to hand a helping paw. His wife was worried as well. These types of kidnapping are known to be just "white meat trade". She hoped she was wrong.

Finally, after a whole day, they got a clue. In the evening, the police Beastmen were dispatched but Kay was restrained into joining in it. It was too personal and they feared he would kill someone on the spot.

The lead brought them to a shabby-looking abandoned warehouse, to the south outside the city. It was pretty much run down and seemingly could fall apart at any time. The impatient trio was kept at a distance behind the tape, anxiously waiting.

The building got stormed by the masked police squat and after several minutes, one by one, human males were escorted out. Kay began to pace around, but not alone. Ivaylo walked by his side too. Both were ready to pounce on those low lives.

Police Beastmen kept their focus on those two. They didn't want them to attack the suspects out of the blue. Marsh was standing silently worrying. He was a human male, he knew, what probably happened to her but kept his mouth shut in front of the two Beastmen.

Paetyn was in the clutches of those bastards, something over a day, almost two but that was enough time to do a lot of damage. A human doctor was taken inside. Ivaylo stopped and swallowed hard, eyes fixated on the entrance. He was impatient and already wanted to run inside fetching Paetyn.

A familiar woman's scream came through... Ivaylo with Kay said "Fuck it!" and rammed their way through the police Beastmen and darted inside. The warehouse wasn't that spacious and they beelined straight to the open door with a couple of officers standing in between, pushing them to the side.

Ivaylo fell to his knees. Paetyn was hidden only by a police blanket, still shackled to the wall, strong scent of blood, and fully naked... Her body had a lot of bruises and cuts, and her face was swollen from beating. A hurricane of different feelings raged inside his body... pain, despair, sadness, HATRED, and ANGER.

He wished to take pure but at the same time evil revenge on that filth, who dared to do that to his beloved! Kays didn't hide his temperament either, smashing the wall behind him, leaving a huge hole. He turned and wanted to go outside to dig his claws into those assholes, sitting in the police car but got restrained now inside.

Ivaylo with tears in his eyes, began to crawl on his knees towards her. Paetyn saw him and screamed out loud. He didn't understand. "What?!" Ivaylo froze. She was in shock and seeing any humanoid being she got easily frightened.

That exact same thing happened when the doctor tried to come closer to her for the examination. That was the scream they heard. The male human doctor patted Ivaylo on his shoulder. "Give her time, she must overcome her trauma. I already called a woman colleague to take over. She can't stand any male humans nor Beastmen resembling one."

That broke Ivaylo. Kay heard the man and he walked slowly over to her trying his luck. She didn't mind animalistic nor hybrid Beastmen, only half-bloods with human features. Ivaylo put his arms over his head in despair and hid his face behind, so she wouldn't need to look at his hideous human part.

Kay wrapped her in the blanket and gently lifted her into his arms. He took her out, walking past Ivaylo, still crouching on the dirty ground. He didn't move till they left the room. Kay took her inside the ambulance and straight to the hospital.

Marsh saw them and was about to approach Kay with Paetyn but the Doberman Beastman signaled him with his paw, to keep his distance. His gaze was following the ambulance, till it disappeared, and then ran up to Ivaylo questioning him about what happened.

After a short explanation, his heart sank. So they really did the nasty to her...
