Chapter 49:

Bad News

My Other Half

************WARNING! MENTIONS OF SEXUAL ASSAULT!**********

At the human hospital, the patients and staff were scrutinizing an Animalistic Beastman, sitting inside a young woman's room, who was taken in. Was he the perpetrator? Was this lovemaking gone wrong? In reality, it was a sexual assault from the human males and physical violence, but nobody bet an eye about that.

Ivaylo was sitting on the chair with Marsh outside her bedroom, listening to the wild stories and gossip, that was spreading at light speed. With every minute his rage grew by a mile. Marsh had to keep him down, so he wouldn't fly out of the handle on them. "You shouldn't care about those words... The humans are simple-minded and that's the way they think."

But what they were spreading, wasn't true at all. And he was the true lover of Paetyn, not that dog core dude staying inside. "Ugh!" Ivaylo threw his legs into the air and stood up with his hands in his pockets. He gave it a try to walk up and down the hall, so he would calm his nerves, which were boiling over.

Marsh followed him with his eyes. "Do you think, you have it the worst? I am blood-related to her, we grew up together, yet she can't stand my face now..." Ivaylo's situation was not any better, just different.

In several weeks, he grew used to his appearance and began to even like it, because Paetyn fell for his looks and charm. But now, everything changed. She hates his features and the progress is reversing. Now he is on square one and hates himself again for what he is. Why did it had to come to this?

The female staff was tending to Paetyn's superficial injuries. Kay was sent outside, because they needed to do a different kind of examination... make sure she was okay... down there. Not to mention do a quick pregnancy test.

Kay bending over to pass the door, appeared with a worrisome face in the hall. With great care, he closed the door as silently, as possible. The odor of disinfectant was burning his sensitive Beastman nose, but he didn't mind it at that time. Ivaylo and Marsh looked at him with an expectation to tell some news.

Kay plopped down on a chair, squeezing his butt and tail into that tiny furniture. "She barely said a thing. She was badly beaten, some injuries are from mere human fists, others from a baseball bat. They cut her with a box cutter when she tried to resist their advances... In the end, they stripped her down, held her limbs, and took their turns on her."

I huge sigh followed. The frustration was loud and clear. Marsh sank in his chair, covering his face with his palm. He felt like crying, not to mention Ivaylo, who was devastated standing and staring absent-mindedly at Kay. He needed to digest, what Kay just said. Kay tried his best to not destroy the hospital equipment.

They had to do something... REVENGE! There was no other option from their side. Kay already was on it, despite the short time. He used the Chairman's meddling into that matter and pushed for the rapists to be sent to a Beastman prison.

Ivaylo snapped back after learning about it. "What will be the next step?! I would rather see them dead." Kay waved his hand. "I would rather see them suffer!" He lowered his head with a menacing glare. "They had to pay for what they did! Death would be an easy way out."

Marsh agreed with the Doberman. "They had to suffer physically and mentally at the same time! I wish the worst for those bastards!" Ivaylo was curious about the method. "How do you want to achieve it?!" Kay smirked. "I have connections inside of the prison. An acquaintance from the past, who owns me. I will gladly arrange a meeting."

Ivaylo got overly interested in it. "Tomorrow evening, at your bar!" Kay nodded. Marsh calmed down. They all were on the same level of understanding. For Paetyn, they will do anything together.

The female doctor left the room. Ivaylo cut her off. She was flustered. It wasn't every day, that she came face to face with a Beastman. Ivaylo did frighten her, not to say, how terrifying Kay looked. Yet, after what she saw inside, how he behaved towards the human girl, the Doberman seemed to be a gentle giant.

Ivaylo in his business suit, stern glare, and tall stance looked unpredictable. The doctor turned to Kay to tell him the report about the patient's condition. Ivaylo got offended, grabbed her shoulder, and spun her to face him. She was mortified.

The female doctor, confused looked for help at the only human, Marsh, who sat in between the Beastman duo. He scolded Ivaylo right away and apologized for his misbehavior. "I am sorry Miss Doctor! He is just on edge. You see, the girl inside is his girlfriend..."

She was confused, she thought, that the big bad Doberman, was the boyfriend. But she sighed out of relief, the size difference was uncanny. The humanoid Beastman was more acceptable and not to say, despite being so scary, he was overly handsome making her blush. Even she would give it a try if Ivaylo would approach her.

Now the matter turned back to the report about Paetyn. "Her physical condition will heal in two weeks. Mentally... it will take probably several months at the minimum and for the maximum years..." Ivaylo's heart dropped but in front of that lady, he tried to look strong.

"I also did a pregnancy test and currently she is not pregnant." That sentence made them all feel disgusted, pushing forward the extent of what those low lives did to her. Ivaylos ears dropped and his tail was motionless hanging... "Can I see her now?"

The doctor pressed her lips together. "You can try, but I don't recommend it right now. She is deeply shocked by the experience and she has shown a negative reaction to human males, including humanoid ones. I am very sorry! But don't worry, it will get better with time."

With one last apologetic glance at Marsh, she stepped aside and left. Kay was ready to take care of Paetyn in the meantime.
