Chapter 9:

our shared whisper

Body swapping makes him ideal mother!

"Referring to myself as 'he' now? Hmm, it feels fresh to refer to myself that way sometimes."

His voice changed suddenly, as if a switch had been flipped, and he spoke with a calm tone.

"Huh?"

"Even though you're a guy inside, you've been desperately acting like this cute wife and daycare teacher. That role seems so transparent now, and it's incredibly enticing."

"!!"

His words sent chills down my spine. My past playful and affectionate antics in front of him flashed before my eyes like a reel.

"What's the matter, Michelle? Why the downcast face?"

"I'm mortified. Please forgive me."

"It's fine. I find it cute. In fact, I've been wanting you to do more of it."

He then carried me bridal-style to the bed.

"Forgive me! Forgive me!"

"I won't because you're so cute."

He rained kisses on my cheek and gently laid me on the bed. He lay down next to me and whispered into my ear.

"You like being teased and messed with by me, don't you, Michelle?"

He hit the nail on the head. While on the surface I pretended to be annoyed, deep down I found his teasing endearing.

"Never..."

"I've seen it. Even when you say no, you occasionally smile. You can't hide your joy."

"Stop it! You're ridiculous!"

"Michelle smiled. That's all I wanted."

He sighed in relief. That's when I realized his kindness. To preserve our relationship and not hurt me, he had always played around. Maybe that's why I fell for him.

"You know, I was scared. I thought Michelle would distance herself. But I want the same Michelle as always. As a wife, as a mother, to keep our home intact."

"Yes, I might not be perfect but..."

He turned off the light. They kissed, and the rest was intimate, their love palpable.

"Sorry, I finished too quickly again. It felt too good..."

"It's okay. It felt really good for me too."

I kissed his dejected face.

That night, I stayed up late, wanting to watch him sleep. Hearing his snores, a chuckle bubbled up from within.

From that day, we rarely spoke about swapping bodies. I always thought of him as a kind and caring person. Together, we raised our eldest daughter and our newborn son.

We started socializing with Michael's family. Guilt about leaving our previous families was the beginning, but our children became fast friends.

As time passed, once parenting settled down, I began attending vocational school to become a certified childcare worker. I'm doing my best, considering it training. My husband once asked me to handle the company's accounting, but I knew that wasn't for me. Although, playing the organ wasn't my forte either. I've played on a synthesizer for my husband and kids, but they laugh at my poor skills.

Years flew by. Once the children grew up and became independent, I fell ill. I left this world before George and Michael.

"If you return to your original body, you can live for several more decades," Michael said.

But I told him I wanted to be buried in George's family grave. My biggest last wish, they granted. I always felt sorry for always having my way. I've been truly blessed.
