Chapter XX : Finding Forbidden

Location : The Desert [28/09/2067]

We would return back to the Minecart crash site, All the Rubble, dirt, and Sand. It wasn’t really clear what happened, But what’s important is, there were survivors. Scarlett's hand would appear from the sandy-ground, trying to climb her way up to the surface. Her head and soon her whole body would rise from the sand, She would climb with determination, as eventually she got one of her legs up, and the other one eventually followed, Scarlett would lay on the ground near the Crash Site with a sigh of relief. She would take a moment to take a breath. But the sigh of relief would shortly end, as he sees Connor’s Communicator broken below the Minecart. She had assumed the worst, She looked away not wanting to see the rubble anymore, and quickly pulled out her Communicator.

“Hello..? Hello…? Scarlett here, I am here to inform you that I have survived, I survived the Heist.”

Location : Savior’s Base [28/09/2067]

“Connor wasn’t so lucky, Please if anyone gets this send help, My Location is public.” The Radio would pick up Scarletts Message, And it would indirectly lead to Sylvester. Sylvester would be sitting in the Radio room coincidentally. Running out of the office, sounding all alarms. He would Run to the helipad, Which Corner would be there waiting for him next to the helicopter.

“I got the call, Quick get in. ” Corner said to Sylvester.

A few SoE soldiers would tag along, They would all get into the Helicopter, to Scarlett's Location. The Ride won't be long, It would at least be a few minutes, They would eventually arrive at the crash site. Seeing Scarlett's Sandy body below them. Sylvester would drop down to help her up, She looked bruised up, Her clothes were Filled with sand. Sylvester Grabbed her and started carrying Scarlett to the Helicopter, A Few men would come down bringing medical gear and A stretcher, Sylvester would put Scarlett atop the Stretcher and Put her safely in the Helicopter. Corben would go down and would start investigating the Crash site, Corben would see Connor's Communicator. And started searching.

Location : Savior’s Base [28/09/2067]

“I found his Communicator, But not his Body, It seemed like Connor is still somewhere out there. He's either still in the caves, Or he got flinged but that couldn't be possible.” Corben said.

They were in a meeting, Scarlett sitting in a specialized chair, Corben in the middle discussing the recent events, And Sylvester standing next to him, and a few unnamed soldiers. They were standing behind a table. Eventually Sylvester brought up a rescue mission for Connor. Scarlett mentioned about the Hive, and how Connor might've been left there. Sylvester agreed for a rescue mission to the hive. But Corben was skeptical. As they were gearing up for the rescue mission underground, Corben was still in the meeting room, Holding Connor’s Communicator, and looking at the pictures of the destroyed minecart.

After an hour had passed, he would still be there. This time Scarlett would walk in, Her face full of bruises and her arms bandaged. She would come to comfort Corben. She would be right next to him, smoking a cigar, Whilst looking at the pictures.

“So… Scarlett, I have a question” Corben said.

“Sure.” Scarlett shortly replied.

“You said that, You Barely made it out from the cave?” Corben asked.
“Yea, I passed out due to the length of the rail and the lack of oxygen, I had fallen out of the mine cart just before it went out of the tunnels. But Connor passed out first” Scarlett replied.
“What even Chased you?” Corben replied.
“It was a Sub-species of the worms, Known as the Slithering beast. This is actually the first time I've seen the creature, usually located in the Southeast of the world, Around Australia or Indonesia.” Scarlett said.
“I don’t know Scarlett, all of this sounds a little weird, I don't think Connor is back in the cave.” Corben said.
“Why do you think that?” Scarlett replied
“His Communicator… If he was still in the cave, he would still have his communicator on him,” Corben claimed.

Scarlett stood there, She thought about all the implications. But suddenly Sylvester walked in, The Team found Nothing in the desert near the minecart or the Tunnel leading to the Hive, No Bones, no clothes, No anything, it was like Connor was never on that Minecart. But the Extraction team found one thing, Footsteps, And it seemed to be a possible match for Connor, Unfortunately the Footsteps led to nowhere, but it was near the Farlands. Corben's eyes would brighten up a bit, realizing he might be right.

“Scour the nearby areas and if you have to search the far lands,” Corben ordered. The Soldiers would nod immediately leaving the room, Sylvester would also nod following the soldiers, not before stopping at the door. And saying
“Proud of you, Corben”
