Chapter 6:
The Sorrowful Jedi
Doubt, and fear pierces my mind as I pack. It takes all my training to remain calm. Tonnis helps. Melra sits cross legged on a rock. I would think her meditating if not for how her eyes fallowed me. I didn’t need the force to tell me she wasn’t happy I was leaving. The sun was high in the sky now. There was nothing more to pack, and we had stopped to eat.
“So you’re going to go back? Even though we may be in danger?” Melts breaks the silence that had fallen between the two of us. I sigh.
“I’m going to ask for council on the dream. There’s no use waiting here guessing what’s going to happen next. If I sit here doing nothing then the vision will surely come to fruition.” I say calmly.
“So that’s what you think we’re doing is it? Nothing.” I set down my bowl hard, and rise to my feet. A spark of anger burns inside me.
“I suppose I don’t see the point. We were all safer on Manatis. So now your going to what- Stay on some on were planet with only each other to talk too. Do occasional rebel missions. Get into trouble. We’re will you draw power? How far are you willing to go? I don’t understand. I try, but I still don’t. Was running from everything you’ve ever know worth it?” I ask. “Do lie to me I now how impulsive you are Melra. Did you think any of this though?” I feel her anger. Adding to my own.
“I gained freedom.” She says.
“You lost your community. You lost me.” I say.
“They asked for to much.” She says.
“Yeah, well so did you.” I tell her. I never wanted her to feel like she was in my shadow, or that she didn’t have the freedom she needed. Yet I was still angry, and so was she. Because we both knew this wasn’t a perfect solution and that maybe there wasn’t one. Were we were an us again. It had always been us two sisters, but things were changing and quickly. “I apologize. If you’ll excuse me. I’m going for a walk.” I needed to clear me head. The last thing I hear is,
“You get to be angry at them Zylla.” I shake my head, and move fast though the forest. I dodge branches, and when I must, I use the force to move them out of my way. I walk myself back to camp. Feeling my self again. These out busts are so unlike me. It scares me, and that scares me more. When I come back, Melra is training with Tonnis in the clearing. When she sees me she moves aside politely. It’s been a long time since I’ve trained with him. I’ve been busy doing favors for the higher ups. I take out my blue lightsaber, and ignite it. He takes out his red. I study it closely for a moment. I’m relieved to find the only thing that seems to have changed is the color. He takes a defensive stance. I swing first. You can hear the signature sound of two lightsabers hitting against each other. I’ll admit he’s gotten better, but so have I. I spin, and kick out going for his leg. He dodges easily stepping back, but it’s then I push him with force. It’s just enough to make him loose his stance, and steady footing. My lightsaber hits his. I slowly push both blades towards his throat. Then suddenly everything’s on fire. The sounds of rain, and birds turns to the loud noise of a raging fire. Everything is burning. The whole city is on fire. Manatis is gone. The sight of Tonnis stubbling back a had to his heart come sharply into view. I can hear Melra crying. I fall to my knees. Manatis and all its people is gone. I scream.
