Chapter 0:

To become a hero

Villain in an upside down world

"Fwooosh!" Kofi sang, his fists clenched, and his hands stuck out as he pretended to fly.

The little boy was barely a meter tall, making the long makeshift cape in the form of a tablecloth look ridiculous as it dragged behind him.

His mother watched him adoringly as she dusted and cleaned, her heart filled with motherly love for the young child. She watched as he dashed around the small space, his bronze skin glowing, his green eyes sparkling, and his smile far more beautiful then a crescent moon.

A knock resounded on the door, before the deep voice of a man called out a greeting. Like a dog reacting to it's meal bell, Kofi stood up alert, before sprinting to the door.

"Daddy!" He called out, holding up his hands as he ran to his father.

"My little man! How are you doing?" His father asked, lifting him into the air, his cape flying dramatically. His father was a tall buff man, and on him was a blue police uniform.

"What's this?" His father asked curiously, a smile on his face.

"I am a superhero!" Kofi announced, raising his little fist in the air. "I am going to stop all the bad guys, like you!"

His father raised his eyebrows, amused by his son's zeal. His heart softened at the boy's declaration. The man looked up in time to see the boy's mother walk up to them, a smile her face.

"He decided he wanted to become a superhero after watching those shows of his. The infinity man or whatever they call it."

On hearing the name, the boy's eyes lit up brighter then before.

"Daddy! I want to become Infinity man!"

His father smiled before setting him down. He then kneeled as he looked into the boy's eyes, both his hands resting on the boy's shoulders.

"Kofi..." He raised his hand and rubbed his son's head, speaking thoughtfully. "Do you want to become a superhero?"

His son nodded expectantly, his glowing eyes expectant.

His father nodded before saying something as he pointed to his son's chest.

"The best superhero you can ever become... Ever! It is yourself. And don't you forget that..."
