Chapter 1:
Villain in an upside down world
Skipping amongst the cracks on the pavement, a young boy seemed to be on his way to school. His uniform was well-ironed, his large curly hair combed well and his bronze skin glowing healthily.
He squeezed through the crowds, whistling a tune as he moved. Then, as he took a turn, his ears heard a thunderous noise. He raised his head to see a fascinating scene.
In the air, like some hero out of a fairytale, was a man.
A long dark red cape flew in the air like a warning flag, and a hood covered his head. Red energy whirled around his body like a tornado, creating a massive sphere around him.
What was before him was even more bizare. A colassal lizard-like monster stood on two legs, it's reptilian eyes glowing furiously as it glared at the hero. What was stunning, however, is that the monster was at least as tall as a 20 story building.
Kofi Gray was frozen into place, as he watched the chaos before him. People had already began running like ants, even abandoning their vehicles to avoid being crushed by the battle.
Kofi just stood still, watching in fascination and shock.
The monster swung it's hand, intending to swat the man in the air. The man, despite seeming tiny before the monster raised a single arm, stopping the giant lizard. A shock wave was released by the impact, sending a powerful gust of air Kofi's way.
The man rose into the air, his cape flapping violently and the energy around him growing wilder. Then when he had risen above the monster, he dropped.
Like a dropping comet, he shot toward the monster. Within a split second, he had made contact. A large red explosion formed, so violently loud it sent ringing through Kofi's ears. A shock wave was released, so powerful it sent Kofi flying backward, into the windshield of a car.
Kofi felt himself lose consciousness, but just before his eyes closed, he saw the giant figure of the monster fall, it's slowly crashing into the skyscraper behind it.
Then he saw darkness.
* * *
Kofi opened his eyes moments later, finding himself in the care of the medics. Luckily he had obtained only major injuries which had been treated.
The bad news was that his father had arrived at the scene, being an officer.
"I swear I'll definitely catch that vigilante..." His father muttered, as hr turned away from the medical tent, walking to the scene.
"H'e's not a vigilante dad!" Kofi called out, as he followed his enraged father. "Ultra-point's a hero!"
"We've had discussion a thousand times son! That man is no hero. Ever since he appeared 6 years ago, havoc followed him. Our lives are for more better without any of these so-called superheroes!" His father turned around, looking into his son's eyes, "You're not a kid anymore. There are no superheroes and villains. There are only criminals and the law!"
His father them wore a pair of sunglasses before marching away.
"You can take a break from school today." He called out as he left a frustrated Kofi standing alone.
Lifting his hand to touch the plaster which hid a small cut on his forehead, Kofi muttered. "Nah, I think I'll go school today."
