Rising in Rank

MMy current goal is to elevate my class's rank. The teacher explained during the island test that each class would have different training depending on their rank. Rank D would have the easiest training, while Rank A would face the toughest challenges. Therefore, I need to help my class advance in rank so I can become strong by the second year.

While walking through the school courtyard, I overheard my Sensei mentioning that there was a Special-level dark creature at the school. This immediately made me think of Aiko, although I wasn't sure yet.

I left before hearing the rest of the conversation, but I couldn't stop thinking about what she might be doing to our school. I had never heard of Special-level creatures before. I started watching Aiko more closely and discovered that she used to visit a cave. I decided to follow her discreetly, and to my surprise, I saw her talking to a dark creature.

The being appeared to be a man with short, disheveled hair and cold eyes. I continued to watch from a distance until I accidentally stepped on a twig, alerting her to my presence. Before she could react, Sensei appeared and quickly pulled me away, ordering me not to get involved.

I had never seen my Sensei so worried before...

— Sensei, what’s happening? — I asked.

— Nothing you need to know about for now — he replied.

Suddenly, there was an explosion, and Sensei ran toward the scene, worried, as other teachers were also in the cave with him. I followed from a distance, unnoticed. When I arrived, I was paralyzed witnessing the power level of Aiko and my Sensei. I had never seen them fighting so seriously.

Aiko saw me frozen and came toward me, but before she could reach me, Sensei stepped in front and took a stab in the back. I screamed and cried like never before, feeling an unknown power rising within me. I lost control and attacked Aiko with all my strength, leaving her severely injured.

After the intense battle, I fainted and woke up in the school infirmary. Three students were there, praising my fight. When I asked about Sensei, they told me that he had died.

I broke down in tears, but at the same time, I found new motivation to become the strongest warrior. Now, I am determined to reach the rank of Special-level warrior.
