Chapter 86:
The Lifeless Supermoon: A Fateful Encounter
Blood rushed to her face. "I-Im sorry!", she hid her face inside the water.
"Don't worry about draining and refilling the bathtub, I will do it. And also, you can drop your clothes in the washing machine. I will take care of em' ", she said calmly.
She was having second thoughts on her idea of her. Maybe her mom was right? Maybe she was a kind soul. She giggled at the possibility. Her anger turned into curiosity. "I wonder what type of girl my stupid brother chose for himself."
Ayane cut her bath time short. She felt a bit relieved. Kanako's sister sounded a bit more friendly at the end. She dried herself with a dry towel that seemed guest-friendly, which was hanging at a side. Wrapping herself like a burrito, she sighed and checked her surroundings after peeking through the door. The area was clear. She exited the bathroom into the small, cozy basin room and locked the door. Her eyes locked on the clothes his sister prepared for her. She was surprised. His sister's taste in clothing was... professional. It isn't like normal fashion, it had a hint of creativity. She remembered her time during her acting career, when she used to wear these.
She giggled remembering those. "But isn't it a little overkill for a regular day?"
She wore the oversized pink sweater— which covered the tips of her fingers— along with warm and fuzzy sweatpants. It felt nice. His sister took into consideration the weather too. But maybe the scarf and the beanie was a bit too much.
"But it's looks cute on me, doesn't it?", she said to herself, spinning around in front of the mirror. "I look like a writer!"
The warmth livened up inside her. The heat of the hot bath trapped inside the sweater and made a contrast with the cold atmosphere. She looked at her fingertips— almost covered with the sweater's sleeve— and noticed that its bright red, filled with warm blood.
She turned around and took a deep breath, mentally preparing herself to officially meet with Kanko's family. "Okay... here I come!", she said in a low voice, turning the doorknob open.
