Chapter 220:

Agatha and Kana

En Passant Grandmaster

March 15th, 2015

Agatha smirked as she entered a laboratory alongside Fianna Kuninganna. "So what exactly is it you claim will be able to give you control of the country and world? Better be worth all this money I'm giving you."

Fianna refused to answer until the two were standing before a vat containing a man that resembled Manny Pewler. "This mound of flesh will one day take the nation and world by storm, she muttered as she placed a journal of sorts on a table near the vat, before walking away.

"Hmm? I thought you hated men, so why are you putting so much faith in one?"

"I'm not, that mound of flesh is merely my tool to attain power."

As the two headed out, Agatha noticed something that caught her interest and decided to stay behind to check it out. She entered the room to find Skaberghast and 3 other people all huddled around a chessboard, watching two people play. Agatha had dabbled in chess a bit and knew a bit about the game, but what intrigued her was the fact that the area around the chessboard was seemingly that of an outdoor meadow.

Agatha entered just in time to catch the end of a match as a woman with short brunette hair defeated her opponent. What was more intriguing though was that the woman's opponent suddenly began doing a loach scooping dance as the other scientists frantically wrote in their notes.

"So is this an experiment in improving chess skills?" Agatha asked.

"Ara, that could be considered so. And you are?"

"I'm funding the project in the lab over and came to see what was going on here. So was that meadow just now witchcraft?"

"Witchcraft? Hmm, perhaps in the archaic sense, yes, but the reality is far more rooted in science. How familiar are you with holographic technology?"

"Hollow what now?"

The woman smiled and introduced herself as Kana Tanabe before explaining in detail what she meant. Agatha didn't understand a word, but figured it'd be in her best interests to do so, as it could help her usurp Mother Salem as head of the Broadstone family.

"So Kana, what's the gist of the experiment?"

"It's a simple task on paper; create a device that can force people into chess games."

"What do you mean by that?"

A playful smirk appeared on Kana's face as nodded to one of her co-workers. "Why don't I show you first-hand. Though you would need to consent first."

After Agatha did so, one of the other scientists activated a small circular device, causing a chessboard to appear.

"Now for our wager, hmm... How about loser gets their hair and eyebrows dyed red."

"Huh? Why not have loser end up bald?" Skaberghast grumbled.

"Because you're the only one here with a perverted fetish for bald women," one of the other scientists glared.

Kana however, began to chuckle. "Very well, but just for me. I wouldn't want this poor woman to end up bald because of me."

"You saying you're good at this game? Like a grandmaster?" Agatha asked.

"Sadly not. International master is the best I've managed to achieve, and the field is only getting younger and more talented, making it far harder to get the GM tile. Now, shall we begin?" Kana smiled as she moved her pawn to e4.

Agatha nodded, and moved her pawn to c6. "So what's so bad about you going bald?"

"Oh nothing much, but Manfred is a bit extreme in his preferences so I'd end up without a single hair anywhere on my head. Hair, eyebrows, eyelashes, none would remain," Kana chuckled as she moved her pawn to d4.

"You're talking like you've experienced it first hand," Agatha smirked as she moved her pawn to d5.

"Ara, ara. Keen perception you've got. Ah, that was quite the humiliating experience. Three rounds of shaving cream, two rounds of wax and depilatory cream, I was afraid I'd never have hair again," Kana sighed as she moved her knight to c3.

"Wow, sounds humiliating," Agatha snickered as she captured the pawn on e4 with her d-pawn.

"Indeed it was. My family didn't even recognize me, but their reactions were priceless. Though I did sport the look quite nicely if I do say so myself," Kana smiled as she captured the pawn on e4 with her knight.

"That's only your subjective opinion though. wouldn't the sciency types need to confirm that first hand," Agatha snickered as she moved her knight to d7.

"Quite the convoluted way of expressing your confidence in victory. Though there is plenty of documentation of my hairless state. I will admit the prospect of going bald didn't phase me much as I did use to buzz my head and eyebrows back in my school days. My, I really was a different person back then. But I had never been shaved so smoothly before, so the experience was an intriguing case study. My head was so tantalizing smooth, I think I awakened a bald fetish within myself. Ah, that was probably the horniest and most embarrassing period of my life. I was constantly having my husband shave me, massage me, it seemed sexual role-play was all we were doing with our time," Kana chuckled as she moved her queen to e2.

"Then maybe you need to go bald again," Agatha snickered as she moved her g-knight to f6.

"No, while the experience was tantalizing and sexually stimulating, life doesn't revolve around that 24/7. I do have a day job, you know. But I think red will look good on you."

"Huh? What do you mean by that?"

"You just lost. Checkmate, silly," Kana giggled as she moved her knight to d6, winning the game.

Agatha stared at the board with her jaw hung open, but greater surprise came to her when metal tentacles suddenly sprouted from the circular device and restrained her before dying her teal hair and eyebrows red before releasing her and deactivating.

"Whoa, this actually suits me REALLY well! So what else could that thing force you to do?"

As soon as Kana confirmed that the sky was essentially the limit, a malicious grin spread on Agatha's face. "So it could force someone to cede all their power to you, yes?"

The prompt caused Kana to frown, but confirm it was doable. Among everyone present, only she seemed to be saddened by the idea of the invention being used for that purpose. Not all the other scientists necessarily wanted that either, but considering Agatha did want that and was willing to sink some sizeable funding into the project, they quickly changed their tune. And thus, on that day, Agatha, Skaberghast, and all the other scientists present with the exception of Kana, would later become known as the sinful 6 in the eyes of Okisato, as those 6 were the most responsible for taking his mother from him.

...

Back in the present, Agatha began to tremble as Okisato approached her. "W- Wait! I don't have a DESPER, nor do you, right? So how exactly do you plan to settle this in chess!?"

"Simple, I break your legs and arms and subject you to an old-fashioned underground chess match," Okisato snarled.

"Then how would I even play!?"

"You could just levitate the pieces with your mind."

"Uh, I can't do that!?"

"Then I'd leave one of your arms functioning enough to move the pieces, or you could move the pieces with your mouth."

Much to Agatha's dismay, her family didn't seem to care for her plight and began leaving. Since Okisato's grudge was solely directed at Agatha, he didn't mind, nor did he fall for Agatha's bluff that they were also responsible for his mother's death.

However, there was one who did decide to help out Agatha; Skaberghast. Before Okisato realized it, it suddenly began pouring rain as he was forced to once again return to the chessboard, this time up against Skaberghast.

"How did you do it!?"

"Someone just had a DESPER key. Now, death by drowning in this typhoon for the loser?" Skaberghast sneered.

"HOW DID YOU REACTIVATE YOUR DESPER!?"

A malicious smile appeared on Skaberghast's face. "I'll tell you all, even about everything that happened with Mommy Kana-"

"Don't you ever call Kaa-san that, EVER!"

"Well look at you, mom-con. Well, Kana was a milf goddess so I can't blame ya for lashing out. Now as I was saying, I'll tell you all, but only if you beat me in a 10 minute rapid game, AND only if you win after I play a Muzio gambit. Otherwise, it's just simple death for me if you beat me any other way," Skaberghast sneered as he opened the game by moving his pawn to e4.

"Why would that even be possible? If I win, regardless of what opening is played, you tell me everything! Everything about the DESPER project, everything about my mother, Kana Tanabe, and everything you know about the DESPERs themselves and how they work!" Okisato glared as he slammed his pawn down on e5.

"Then sucks for you, but my condition stands," Skaberghast snickered as he moved his pawn to f4 and displayed the conditions of the wager.

Okisato couldn't believe he was telling the truth, but at this point, decided it didn't matter. "Fine, I'll crush your Muzio," he snarled as he captured the pawn at f4 with his e-pawn.

"Perfect, now you know the line, yes?" Skaberghast sneered as he moved his knight to f3.

Okisato nodded and moved his pawn to g5, as Skaberghast moved his bishop to c4. And after he moved his pawn to g4, all that remained was for Skaberghast to castle. However, there was a long pause.

"Don't you dare screw this up!"

"Hey, I'm not obligated to play it, but since it is MY opening, I have a 100% win rate with it, so have fun flailing in the dark forest," Skaberghast sneered as he castled kingside.

The Muzio gambit had just been played. Now all Okisato had to do was win, but little did he know, this would be perhaps the most difficult game in his entire life.
