Chapter 3:
A ghoulish Lovesung
Mia and Maya huddled behind Shana in the back of the van and watched the broadcast from Cameron's camera.
"Whazzup, fam! Bug Guy here and I'm going ghost hunting for some headless horseman guy at a farm. I'm with professionals so hopefully I won't die. Oh, Mia n' Maya are chilling at the mobile studio in case y'all are wondering. The pros said it was best not to all go at once, so this is what we're doing, so let's begin."
Kale began leading the way as Big Guy followed. Kale truly lived up to her reputation as an oddball. Along with a fixed smile and kelp-like hair, she only wore a green dress, not even bothering to wear any footwear.
"So uh, are your feet fine?" Big Guy nervously asked.
"Asking about my feet? Mine feet art quite fine, for I trot daily without footwear," Kale replied as she began sniffing a cornstalk.
Much to Big Guy, Mia, and Maya's surprise, she then began nibbling on it.
"Uh, this normal for her?" Maya nervously asked Shana.
Shana stated it was in fact, quite normal for her, even revealing that she'd constantly eat grass and even hay. To say Kale wasn't an oddball would be a massive understatement, though it was said she could be reasonable at times, at least according to the rumors.
As for the away team, there was barely any action. After 1 hour of trekking through the field, nothing came up. Big Guy suggested checking out the manor, but the request was shot down. Cameron explained that since the manor was so old, exploring it at night would be too risky, but confirmed that they would explore it during the morning.
As the group began to head back though, Big Guy heard a rustling in the field. Excited, he turned to tell Cameron to film him, but to his surprise, Cameron was gone, though his camera was left laying on the ground.
"Oh, you taking a piss? My bad."
Yet to Big Guy's horror, a scythe suddenly emerged from the cornstalks, impaling Kale through the chest.
Kale wnt limp instantly and was hoisted into the air by the monster of a figure slowly emerging from the cornstalks. The figure looked to be nearly 200 cm tall, and was garbed in a tattered riding outfit and boots. But the most notable feature was the glowing pumpkin atop his head. The ghost of Argus Angus had appeared.
