Chapter 7:
A ghoulish Lovesung
Mia and Maya returned their focus to the screen and noticed Big Guy was on the move again. Mia quickly wrote a note and left it on the turntable before heading out with Maya and Shana.
"I'll escort you two out, though I'll head back as I told you before; Kale is-"
"Yeah, yeah, do what you want after we're safe, but don't blame us," Maya grumbled.
Shana let out a sigh and put her hand in her pocket as she straggled behind the twins.
...
At police HQ, Detective Tyler Pyke perked up as he answered an incoming telephone call. "Police HQ."
"Ah yes, this is Angela Nakiri. I'm calling because the Angus farmlands are within your jurisdiction, yes?"
"That's right. You aren't planning on going there, are you?"
"Actually..."
Tyler's eyes widened as he shot out of his seat. "You serious!?"
"Quite so, now make haste."
Tyler nodded and hung up before immediately rushing out and ordering all personnel to accompany him.
...
As the three reached a clearing, Shana let out a sigh as she caught up to the twins.
"Ah, sorry. We got a bit far ahead.
"Think nothing of it."
The three looked out and noticed some squad cars in the distance.
"Hmm, this place known for having old fashioned squad cars?" Maya asked.
"What do you mean?"
Maya explained that the squad cars looked like they were straight out of old TV shows from the 70s.
"My, you watch the oldies, as the say?"
"Mia actually. She's watched nearly everything American made film or show made during the 60s and 70s. I just got strung along for the ride."
As the two began talking, Mia suddenly went pale and grabbed Maya's arm.
"What's wrong. ...!?"
Maya's eyes widened as she saw the sight Mia was pointing at; Argus was fighting with the officers and slaughtering them with ease.
"And that's why we wait in the van until everyone comes back. Spirits can be quite restless when provoked," Shana sighed as she began to head back.
Maya and Mia quickly followed after her, and as they returned to the van, they found Big Guy waiting for them.
"Well that was hell, now can we go home?"
Maya nervously smiled and informed Big Guy of their predicament.
"You're kidding, right? The key's gone, and that monster's blocking the exit?"
"More like engaging with the authorities," Shana noted.
"Though hey, maybe that means they can take him down. Oh, I got an idea; we all sneak out the back way while ghoulie's distracted!"
"Sound thinking. You'd make a great ghost hunter."
Big Guy blushed and began leading the way, as Maya groaned and put her hand on her face.
