Chapter 6:
A ghoulish Lovesung
As the morning arrived, so too did some torrential rain. Big Guy cautiously peaked out from his hiding place and let out a sigh. He had made it through the night. He began heading back to the van, but as he rounded a corner, he froze as he noticed Argus with his back towards him atop a black horse. the horse slowly trotted forward, with Argus seemingly being none the wiser of the hiding Big Guy.
"No way, that guy's still out. Ugh, maybe he isn't a ghost but a crazed murderer. Doesn't make this any easier though. But if he's a murderer, then was he hired by Oswald?"
Benny "Big Guy" Guster was one of the popular kids growing up. He was always the hip and cool guy. One day, he heard Maya singing one of Mia's songs and approached the two. They ended up hitting it off and went pro soon after.
After the attempted assassination of Mia and Maya, Sick-O informed him of who Oswald Dennis Osbourne was, and why he was targeting Mia and Maya. Big Guy had never met Oswald in-person before, but quickly grew to hate him based on what Maya and Sick-O told him about him. Though one thing really bothered him about the whole thing; Oswald was too old to have gone to school with the twins, nor could the bully have been the same Oswald as the music legend.
"Come to think of it, has that guy even made any public appearances since our debut? All I've seen of him is video replies, but no live in-person interviews or concerts. Maybe he has done that and I just need to look it up?" Big Guy pondered as he slowly crept out.
Suddenly, a rustling sound put him on guard, so he dove back into the corn. Nothing seemed to be coming, but then the sound of hooves echoed out. Big Guy frantically darted his eyes around, but saw nothing. The sound began getting closer, and as he turned to look behind him, he saw Argus charging towards him atop his horse.
Before he could react, he suddenly found himself flying through the air. He strangely didn't feel any pain, until he slammed into the ground and rolled into the mud, losing consciousness.
...
Mia gazed up at the ceiling of the van as she heard the rain coming down.
"Good morning, quiet one. now we face the trial by rain," Shana smiled.
"Seriously, that ghost doesn't rest? Give me a break," Maya grumbled as she downed another energy drink.
Mia nervously began waving her hands around as Maya let out a sigh and patted her on the head. "Don't worry, I'll sleep tight when we're back home and out of this mess. Hey professor Nakiri, how far in are we from the property line?"
Shana replied that they weren't that far in.
"Great, then if we leave the property, the ghost won't come after us, right?"
Shana frowned for a bit before smiling once more and affirming it could be possible.
"Great, then let's head out there and wait for Big Guy in safety. The cops should also be there too."
