Chapter 2:

The girl of my dreams.

Tsurihito's Bride

"...Huh?", my body laid flat on my bed, as my blurry vision stared at the empty ceiling. My eyes were moist. As I felt my face with my hands, a tear fell from the side of my cheeks.

"Did I cry?", I sat up. "A nightmare again?" This was happening for quite some days. Months actually. I feel like every night I am having a nightmare, but I can't seem to remember what the nightmare is. Studies shows that our minds delete out the parts of the memory that hurts us mentally the most to survive. Is my nightmare that bad that I forget all of it every time I wake up?

I left the bed towards the door of my bedroom since I was hungry. The wall clock read six in the morning. There was time so I don't have to rush.

But it seemed like I didn't have to do anything. The sweet aroma of curry was already filling the room, my favourite dish. I could hear the sizzling and cutting sounds from the kitchen.

"Good morning, Katsuhito-kun!", her sweet voice rang even sweeter in my ear than the flavour of the curry. She looked at me as she tightened her apron.

"Let me help."

"You should go freshen yourself up first." She giggled.

"Oh right." Looking back, I really hit the jackpot with her, the golden jackpot of life. Everything about her was splendid, marvellous, beautiful, clean, pure... If I go on it might just take an entire year to finish that sentence. I don't know how can a person be this perfect. She really is amazing.

We have been living together for three months now. It was a small apartment close to our university that I bought at a very cheap price. She is currently studying about marine life, the same department as me. Well, she sits right beside me too.

I freshened up and went to the living room. My face was dripping with water as I looked for my glasses as I can't see anything without them.

Her sliver hair flung across the room as she walked towards the dining table. She was wearing oven gloves as she carried the plate of hot curry to the dining table.

She sighed, "I guess you are like this." Placing the oven gloves on the dining table, she came towards me. She reached out both of her hands on my wet face, and pulled me into her chest.

The apron was rich in her smell and the curry's, but hers was predominant. It was sweet.

"Shake your head and dry yourself on my apron."

Oh right. But I didn't have to struggle much, the water was already gone when she hugged me.

As I was dozing off, she disappeared and came back with my glasses at a speed I couldn't comprehend. I still don't know how she knows where I keep my stuffs when even I don't know.

"Thanks, Airi-chan."

"Sit down on the table, breakfast is served."

I frowned. "You lied. I wanted to help."

"Now now, don't be that mad." She placed her cold hands on my shoulder, slowly pushing me towards the table. "I made your favourite dish."

"I know."

"Then sit down and eat. Imma go change.", she left away to the kitchen, leaving her apron there. Any way, I won't be having my breakfast until she sits with me. Well, at least I can pour the curry on her plate to cool it off.

"Thanks!" She smiled as she came back. This was truly the best life for me.

"You know, the teachers were planning to go on a study trip. I have heard them say stuffs like that." She told as I was gulping down spoonfuls of rice.

I mumbled. "Is that so?"

"Gulp down whats in your mouth before you talk." I don't think this is good, but I think she is becoming more of a mother just by taking care of me. But I just can't seem to get myself together when I am in front of her. I feel like a child, doing silly things to get her attention.

"That's great, isn't it?"

She looked down at me with an ugly stare. "Oh right you hate trips."

"On top of that, we have to dive in the sea there, so it is probably going to be somewhere near the beaches."

That rekindled some past memories. I sure talk with my grandparents everyday, but I haven't met them in a long time. I wonder how they have been.

"That's the downside of studying marine biology. Take it or leave it."

"Water is scary... waves are scary."

We finished eating and headed to our university. I closed the door and went out with her. It was cold in the morning.

"They might be announcing the trip today. I wonder which place we are going to be going."
