Issei Haramoto, founder and guitarist of Secret Prose, struggles to make a name for himself at The Montauk, a venue for amateur rock bands to learn the tools of the trade, and a hot spot for agents to sign hopefuls to the most famous records in Japan. While torn between the talents of other bands and his own, the beautiful Murasaki Tategoto of the seemingly-new band Purple Lotus arrives. But as Murasaki drives the crowd crazy with mountains of talent and Issei finding the ground slipping beneath him, he suddenly has the insatiable need to hear Murasaki's voice again--on the stage and off!
