Synopsis

In the first centuries of the common era, the catholic church was led by a pope that believed that reason and science as imperative for communing with god. Thus a focus on the sciences have allowed humanity to advance exponentially faster than we have by the year 2025. Now science, religion and philosophy are deeply intertwined, using supercomputers to guide people based on the views of different programmed into them.

A group of engineers got to work on some of these supercomputers when an explosion happens. How will god-like machines with unique world views react when they feel fear for the first time.

This work of fiction has historical people, groups and events in a modified state. Some may not exist while others may be completly or just a little bit different.

Finally, this is not an attack on religion. I'm very fascinated by it and aim to explore some aspects of it here.
