Synopsis

Cotox revolutionized the world with Neuraforma, a technology capable of rewriting minds, rebuilding bodies, and creating engineered soldiers. What began as a secret wartime project evolved into a force that redefined humanity and shaped global politics.

Ren, a former soldier from a nation crushed under Cotox’s rule, infiltrates this utopian society seeking revenge. To blend in, he marries Kaede, a Cotox citizen who dreams of a tranquil life in this engineered paradise.

As Ren’s shadowed past clashes with Kaede’s quiet innocence, their fragile union begins to unravel. In a world where identities can be rewritten, can they hold on to who they truly are or will the cost of Cotox’s perfection consume them both?

A Fly in the Hive is a story of blurred morality and the fragile essence of humanity in an alternate historical timeline shaped by groundbreaking technology.

Note from author

[Alt-History]

A Fly in the Hive explores flawed individuals who struggle to fit into a perfectly functioning system. It’s a story rooted in sci-fi and psychology, with a tone that’s somewhat dark and even a bit savage, yet deeply human.

I designed the cover using ChatGPT and Canva.

I am writing this novel to participate in the MyAnimeList x Honeyfeed Writing Contest.

Since I revised the book, the order of some chapters has changed. At times, additional chapters were inserted in between, and some chapters were removed.
