In 2075, Inspiration, a space vessel designed to settle the exoplanet, “Nue”, was finished.
After a 45 year trip, the ship landed on Nue. However, earthings weren’t the first ones there. Ancient peoples had lived there, but deserted their cities years prior.
Within the empty structures, earthlings found a strange piece of tech: a nanomachine armor that takes the form of the user’s will. They dubbed it Animaguard – soul protector.
The highly trained warriors who use them would be called “Defenders” in the Republic of Inizio, and “Knights” in the Republic of Litora, two lands in constant conflict.
After a century of war, there’s peace. Asa, a rookie Defender with a rare gift, is sent to a quiet village with the goal of stealing an item called “The Key”. He’s only told that Litora is also searching for it and that he can’t let it fall into their hands.
Mint, a young healer, joins him on his journey. Pulled into a secret feud between nations, they must confront human nature.

I'll try to post new chapters everyday at 8pm CST. The novel's on the big side, so I'll publish 4 to 8 chapters a day.

The prologue has important information, but you can skip to chapter one to start the story. It'll still make sense without it. I did my best to portray a utopia-like place, but it still has issues. A society run by humans always will.
Overall, Nue has an extremely educated population, next to no war, advanced technology, and no guns. It's pretty good, but any nice place will have its own systemic issues and the threat of oppressive leadership. Every peace has darkness lurking beneath the surface. One that lasts is something that must be constantly worked for.
This has been lots of hard work, but also fun.
Special Thanks: Shyvarg for editing, Anteregem for character design feedback, and both Ryo Ramiya and Satoshi Urushihara for being a huge influence!
