Catarina has spent her whole life roaming the world with a troupe of traveling musicians and entertainers, but a chance encounter with a handsome yet irritating stranger sends her life into an unexpected direction.

Now she finds herself stuck in an unfamiliar world of aristocracy and secrecy, having to navigate the intricacies of this new, stationary life while being subject to the whims of an antagonistic monarch with an explicit interest in tormenting her.

Sort of enemies-to-lovers but the animosity is only really on the protagonist's side.
