Synopsis

Chamaru Vieira is an unsociable high school boy diagnosed with depression, and sees a disparate gray world due to an accident that took away his emotions, parents, and memories when he was a little boy. He has zero friends and niche interests that no one else could relate to, and the person he speaks to the most is his therapist who tries to get him to see color with his senses. On his sixteenth birthday, he runs into Yoru Ringomori—a high school girl equally lonely. Due to their circumstances, they're forced to interact with the outside world to see and report it for what it truly is. Despite these conditions, Chamaru is adamant on being static in his gray world, but finds himself curious as to the girl's uniquely similar angle in life. As they stay together, he wonders if they're similar or unique to each other and society. Whilst all this disrupts the unsociable boy's river of life, to find out the truth of his wonders, he must use his five broken senses and Yoru’s love for apples.

Note from author

This updated version was completely rewritten immediately after the [Old Contest Ver.] ended, but it wasn't until now that I decided to upload it here again.

If you read the old version, this premise is pretty much the same, but there's now more detail to the story as I don't have to follow the rules of a contest and can go in depth into the characters and setting. There are more themes and figures of speeches regarding mental health and isolated adolescence, which are my two main focuses that I couldn't really tap into in the previous iteration.

My upload schedule will be a chapter every day. If I miss a day, there will two the next. My prologue and epilogue will be accompanied by another chapter.

Enjoy a great piece of fiction for apple lovers.
