Opal has always felt somewhat out of place, despite having nearly everything a girl her age could wish for, and whenever that feeling becomes too much she finds comfort in the silence of her town's abandoned church, where there is a rose window depicting a girl Opal feels some strange fascination towards.
One day she falls and crashes into the window, but, instead of getting hurt, she finds herself in another world.
