Shirou Yukimura felt like his life was always going nowhere. So when he, alongside his brother Kazuya, childhood friend Mayumi, and classmates, are suddenly transported to another world, despite the bumpy processes and oddities, he believes that he has given another chance to start over and make up for the mistakes of his life.
However, complications arise as soon as they arrive. Not only does the Kingdom of Deusaerium believe that these children are destined to fight in a war that they believe is imminent, but they are also unequipped to help the students who wish to return home to their normal lives.
How will Shiro and his friends navigate this new world of fantasy as it overlaps with their complicated pasts? How will his desire to do better in this new world clash with his friends’ desire to return home? How will a story already in motion change with the arrival of these other worlders?
My entry into the MAL X HF - Kadokawa Isekai Writing Contest
[Multiple updates will come daily until the submission date, hopefully.] :)
(Some Pg-13 swearing and Pg-13 violence)
This is the first novel I've written & put out publicly. I know it's a pretty late start, but I thought I might as well try my all. I'm very open to feedback and would love to know what y'all think (this includes anything from feedback to the synopsis to the actual text or characters). Thank you.
IMPORTANT NOTE: After having written and published the first 7 chapters, I went back and changed the names of 3 characters to make them more distinct. Here's an explanation in case I forgot to edit it.
Mayu -> Ichika, Yumi -> Naoko, Tomiko -> Emi
Last note: (9.29.2025 11:51) Not sure about rules on updating cover art after due date, so will unfortunately not have one until i am notified otherwise. thank you (also bc the pic i took of a sketch i made was too big of a file)
