The story starts with Alex Kristoph—who is honestly such a mood—just trying to enjoy his trip to Japan. We love a globetrotting king. ✈️ But because the universe hates him (or loves him?), he gets yeeted into this twisted, dark reflection of the world where angels and demons are literally at war.
I was expecting a typical "isekai" where he gets a sword and becomes OP instantly, but FateBreakers hits different. Alex finds out he’s a Nephilim—which, if you’ve read Shadowhunters, you know brings the drama. Half-human, half-god blood? Yes, please. 💅
The real MVP though is Celeste. She’s this angel who guides him, and their dynamic is everything. They have to go through the "layers of Hel" (spooky vibes, 10/10), and the world-building is actually insane for a novel that’s only 31 chapters. It’s short, punchy, and doesn’t drag on for 500 years like some other web novels we know. 🙄
From the first chapter where he’s just a confused tourist to the last chapter where he’s dealing with his whole identity crisis and fighting in a celestial war, the character development feels so earned. It’s finished too, so you get a full ending without suffering through a hiatus!
If you like supernatural action, angsty destiny stuff, and main characters who are just trying to survive the chaos, you need to read this. It’s giving "urban fantasy anime" but in text form.
Rating: 4.5/5 stars. I took off half a star because I wanted MORE chapters, but honestly? It was a slay.
