Akina Fudo has been down on her luck. After a failed college entrance exam, the poor girl was kicked out of her cushy Kyoto life by her parents. Out of money and a home, she has been offered one lifeline: a small apartment in the city of Yamiyami. The city known nationally as Japan's "magical weirdness sinkhole".

It was better than nothing. But after getting her own soul entangled with a neverendingly optimistic but amnesiac spirit named Miharu, her life seemed like it was going to get even more complicated. Paying for food, water, and electricity becomes a lot more complicated when she has an eternal soulmate preaching about justice and hope.

With a goal to both survive for themselves and help others, together they formed the Yamiyami Solve Everything Agency, a business dedicated to helping those who can foot a small fee. Taking any job they have to, Akina and Miharu must work together to survive in this strange city. Will they be able to survive to pay the next bill?
