There is too much to love about this story!
I am not an AI, so I can't give a complete review, but I will do my best!
Downtown Spectres is an amazing story that does more than one expects. The cast was grounded and entertaining to follow. The male lead, Atsunori, started as a duty-driven man. The story explained his behaviour instead of trying to rationalise it. Avery, the female lead, as the review title suggests, wasn't there to heal Atsunori nor to romanticise him. They both remain true to themselves. The villain was well done.... I will skip him in the review.
The conflict between the moral decision and the act of duty was compelling. The characters knew and understood the difference, but decided to act on what they believed.
The role of a family and its influence on one for their entire lifetime was part of the story too, which I totally enjoyed. The realism was perfect, no exaggeration, no forceful recovery. It was simply perfect.
There were so many things that I could talk about that were greatly done.
