Kito is a fourteen year old boy who just moved to a new school. With a positive mindset, he initially tries hard to stand out and gain popularity. However his past trauma catches up to him. In his eyes that trauma manifests in the form of different creatures who attempt to weigh down on his spirit. He eventually seeks salvation in the form of friendship with his classmate Val. Val however is a person who has his own set of unique challenges to face in defining what a human even is. Through cycles of joy that bring pain and pain that brings joy, both boy's find out what it can really take to maintain a friendship. Will the monsters within tear them apart, or will they be able to aid each other in their strive to be human?
