Ray was an art teacher. Twenty years of sketching, oils, and anatomy—and then he died. He woke up in a fog-choked city of ruins as a skeleton, the weakest kind of undead, with no combat skills, no magic, and legs that could barely run.
But he still has his eye for structure. When he looks at the monsters hunting him, he sees the cracks running through them—the "wrongness" in their lines. He picks up a bone shard and draws a single stroke across that crack. The monster stops. Not because it's afraid. Because something inside it changes.
A bare-bones system confirms what he's already feeling: his class is "Soul Painter." No skill tree, no quest log—just a name, a level, and a question. Now Ray is trapped in the Dead City, surrounded by creatures that sense the living soul inside him. No cheat skills. No map. Just a bone in his hand, twenty years of training, and the growing suspicion that his "painting" might be the only thing keeping him from getting smashed to pieces.

This story takes place in the same world as Until Winter’s End, but follows a different character and a different journey. But of course both stories can be read independently:D
