As she is dying, a young girl offers a song to the night sky, and thus, she is given a second chance at life.
Through her Pact with the Great Spirit of the Moon, the Wind phoenix Ceres, Helia is able to command the Wind. Together, they travel from town to town, earning their living as performers, despite Helia's stage fright and anxiety.
In exchange, she must keep singing. Once a month, during the Full Moon, she prays to her savior, her God, the Moon itself, lest He grow bored of her.
However, their peaceful life is soon interrupted by Shadows, mysterious creatures made of pure darkness. Only by making use of her second, forbidden power, can Helia defeat the Shadows intent on corrupting every living creature.
Soon, she will understand why worshiping the Sun and the Moon is taboo.
I learnt about the contest a bit too late, but it hit me like a truck of motivation, and I had to write. There are many things I would like to continue working on and expand in this novel, once the contest period is over.
In any case, please, enjoy the story of these characters that have lived in my head for years. Finally, I was able to put it into words. Thank you for your time!
