A man is washed up on the island's beach. A lone fisherman saves him and gives him a job. The man seems to understand speech, but refuses to talk.
The island also has weird superstitions: forgeting your dream is bad luck, the people that disappear are assumed to be possesed, a stranger in town is never good...
